I've got an '12 Audi S4 as my daily driver, and I still have my hotchkis lowered '99 Dakota r/t that I used to auto X. I consider myself an enthusiast, but I also need to tranport my family, enter the Pacifica. Better dynamics than the odyssey and less wallowy than a suburban. We still have our older family hauler too, our '07 Q7. Not sure if we're going to hang onto it much longer.

I think "Car People" are the ones who show up on a model specific internet forum...regardless of model. Those who buy one and just drive it (no mods, doing their own maintenance, etc.) have no need for a site like this.

That pretty much explains it. Communities like this are for like minded enthusiasts to come together, discuss mods, fixes that we can do, etc. Regardless of what the model is, it's a place for us to discuss everything about our vehicles and share thoughts and opinions because we actually care about it.

I love all of the thoughtful posts. Sounds like there are indeed plenty of enthusiasts here. But, as noted, the enthusiasts are undoubtedly the ones geeking out on the forum.

A few fun vehicles to be found in our household, too.
  • Ducati Monster S4RS
  • Nissan 350Z twin turbo with extensive mods
  • Ford F150 FX4 Ecoboost with a tune and lift

We traded in a Ford Flex Ecoboost with a tune for the Pacifica - that thing is silly fun too. Torque central.

The other driveway-mates are:

2002 VW TDI Jetta
2014 Fiat 500L
2013 Fiat 500 Turbo - which is basically an Abarth lite - same trans, same engine internals, same turbo. Now has an intake, exhaust, ECU flash update, GFB diverter valve, various chassis braces, etc.

and the
2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring. Only the 6th automatic vehicle out of the 25 cars I've owned since getting my license.

It's not a daily at all. An occasional-use nice weather play thing that hits the track when life allows it. Lots of fun if you are the sort who chases adrenalin!
