Another Quirk

I noticed another quirk today. I got in the car waiting for my wife before I started it. I was in the car about 5 minutes...long enough for the lights to go off and the car to go back to an idle condition (like before I got to the car with the key fob). Also, the start button indications went out. When i pushed the start button, the car started and the drivers side went to LO and the fan kicked to high. The system still indicated it was in auto. I hit the temp up button and it when to the previous setting plus one degree.

This is an interesting finding bb. I wonder if the sensors are not gettting powered up in time when the electronics are asleep.

For those of you who are having this issue, Next time you remote start, try first pressing the unlock button on your remote, wait 5-10 seconds, and then go for the remote start button. Just thinking that giving the electronics a little head start might get it to work properly.

Ordered 12/12/16 -- Built 1/26/17 -- Delivered 2/10/17:
2017 Pacifica Limited - Dark Cordovan/Alloy
SafetyTec - UConnect Theater - Vac Delete
8 Pax/20" - Splash Guards - ESS

I don't feel it's related to sensor, the sensor only decide how the cold/hot wind coming out from which vent, but it won't decide the temperature and won't set it as 'LO'....

and what's more, the issue, to me, not happening when I use Uconnect app to remote start the car, so I am feeling it's still the software bug in Key fob. (maybe the key has initial memory of the facture setting that won't allow to override.)

Hi everyone,

The brand is aware of the concerns everyone is having. The work around for now is as follows (which x95stacey already posted):

"The following key FOB sequence will avoid the issue:

1) Press door lock or unlock button on key FOB.
2) Press remote start button on key FOB."

When a more permanent solution is available, I will let everyone know.

Interesting - all of my GM vehicles require pressing the lock button on the fob before using the remote start button (even if the vehicle is already locked). I highly doubt it is to work around a similar issue but it is at least a key sequence I am accustomed to.

Kori,

thanks for the update. I look forward to hearing about a permanent fix but in the mean time will use the work-around.

Sincerely,

This is the case with Ford as well. I think it's just an extra safety to prevent accidentally starting the car.

2017 Pacifica Limited - Molten Silver/Mocha
8 Pax - Vac - SafetyTec - UConnect Theater & Sound

Workaround seemed to be working but I did have something odd happen today. Used remote start using the FOB and locking first. Got in the car and the temp was set at 72°, auto. When I left the car it was set to 70° and auto. Odd but not a big deal. There was, however, cold air blowing from the vents at a high fan speed. When I turned off climate control then back on my temp returned to 70° with warm air blowing slowly from the vents.

I've had this happen and although it said 72 it was actually set to Lo.
