Hello,

My Pacifica was delivered just over a year ago in June 2018. Earlier this month I brought it into the shop to finally get the software update from the recall. Today, towards the end of a 2 hour drive the van stalled while driving down a busy street. I was running on gas. The engine just cut out. Nothing I could do would restart the car and it was towed to the nearest dealership. Now my family is stranded without a car as the lease warrantee apparently didn't cover a "loaner vehicle".

I can't believe the car stalled after I just had it seen for the recall?! Does Chrysler have a fix?! Do people experience repeat stalls if it happened once?? Any advice / info appreciated....

Thank you

Neither of my Pacificas have ever stalled. I turn off the ESS every time so that might be your solution.
Good luck, it's a great vehicle.

I don't think it involved the ESS as I was moving at the time, not stopped at a light. The engine stalled as it was driving....

Terrible situation and could have been dangerous, glad everyone's safe. Anyway, you mentioned you were running on gas which implies you have a hybrid, which doesn't have ESS. What's your exact model and date of manufacture and date of delivery?

Thanks, but what's your exact model, date of manufacture and the exact delivery date in June?

Sorry to hear about your problem. I don't have a solution, but if you provide more info it might help hybrid owners assist you.

You can find the manufacture date on the edge of the driver's door. If you put the van info (year, trim (touring L, limited, etc.), gas/hybrid, etc.) in the signature line of the User CP (upper right corner on webpage), it will show up at the bottom of each post and help others know which van you have.

Thank you for explaining that. The van is at a dealership right now so I don't have access to the door. It is a hybrid limited. I believe the build would have been in May or early June as it was a custom build in Windsor which is close to where we took delivery.

May or June 2018 (the month is an educated guess based as it was custom built and we took delivery asap)

Thanks! So presumably it shouldn't have sat at the dealer long. There is the possibility of a defective battery, but then it also points toward the recall update, if that had anything to do with it or if it was just coincidental.

Then again, there's the slight chance the custom build wasn't so custom and it turned out they had the exact model with same options sitting on a lot somewhere. Probably not, but the manufacture date will tell that.
