Looks like the headrest is not able to adjust at all? Just 2 positions - fold and unfold, is that true? I feel they are having the strange angle and I don't feel comfortable if I keep the seat back up straight.
We took the whole family and some in-laws for an outing this weekend in our Limited and ended up with an adult in the third row with my 4 and 6 year old. This is the first time that we've had an adult in the back and she felt that the headrests were not in a comfortable position. After toying with it a bit we discovered that the headrest for the middle seat is easily removable, but the fold-able headrests on the two outer seats protrude forward a bit awkwardly and can't be adjusted. For kids or really short people this isn't a problem, but for my sister in-law, who is probably 5' 3", the headrest would be a problem for long trips.
This is unfortunate as other than the headrest the third row is pretty comfortable, even for adults, with plenty of leg room and in my limited a nice power recline feature.
I imagine the default angle of the headrest is because of the stow and go nature of the third row. I really hope Chrysler realizes this oversight though and adds some adjustability for future models.
I agree. When I (or guests) sit back there it is in the center or sides with the seats reclined. The 2nd and 3rd row headrests on stow and go really leave something to be desired.
I recline the seat when I sit back there, and that's what I suggest to passengers. It does make the ride more comfortable, but really the headrests are to far forward.
so this is such a poor design by C, I'm shocked. it's a mini van, a FAMILY vehicle, and the engineers must be in an alternate universe. With no solution available, I decided I'd use brute force. I grabbed both sides of the headrest, put a foot in the back well for leverage, and pulled back on the headrest firmly... the steel arms to it DO and WILL bend back a bit, giving you a better headrest angle (and in my case a better angle for the childseat headrest). Full disclosure I did not attempt to out it down into storage/flat mode. Its possible that won't work as well now. But I don't care about that nearly as much as the day to day use.
