Question about Handsfree option Availability

After visiting the dealer it seems that Chrysler is not able to offer the Hands Free Door open option for the Rear and side doors at this time. On the dealer orders I have seen and in attempting to build one with a dealer it appears the only thing it says is late availability and instead shows a delete credit on the invoice.

Just curious to know if anyone has heard a timeline for this option to be available so we can decide if we are going to wait to order since we would like this feature.

The GM at my dealer talked with a Chrysler rep about this issue. The rep said he didn't know when the feature would become available.

Didn't know this was the case but you might have some luck getting more information about this by contacting Chrysler directly and see what they say since it's more of an issue on the manufacturing end than on a dealer level. They should be able to notify you once its available.

i emailed Chrysler via their website and received the following response:

"The HANDS FREE SLIDING DOORS & LIFTGATE GROUP (AAC) which is standard
factory equipment on the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited only and not
available on other models is currently not available at vehicle launch
and is anticipated to be available later in the model year. FCA has
provided a tentative release date for the HANDS FREE SLIDING DOORS &
LIFTGATE GRP of December, 2016 (Subject to change)."

So we may have to wit until next year to get the hands free sliding doors? Not sure if I can wait that long to get the Pacifica. Is anyone going to wait and see when they decide to release the feature?

This is news. I won't be able to wait until the end of the year either. Thanks for posting this.

It's going to be hard but I will wait until the hands-free option is available. It is such a nice feature I can't see not getting it.

Update

This is an email I received after asking Chrysler if there is an option for the dealer to install the hands free opening sensors to Pacifica Limited's that received the $195 refund. I also asked when the New Pacifica's will have proper working handsfree openers.

It is great to read of your interest in the all-new 2017 Chrysler
Pacifica!

According to our resources the Hands Free Sliding Doors and Liftgate is
anticipated to begin production on the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited
model in July 2016. Please be advised that as this timing is projected,
it is subject to change. We regret to advise that FCA US LLC has not
provided any information as to whether the Hands Free Sliding Doors and
Liftgate feature will be backward compatible for 2017 Chrysler Pacifica
models currently available in the market.

Our best suggestion would be for you to discuss the availability of
Hands Free Sliding Doors and Liftgate feature on an aftermarket basis
with your preferred Chrysler dealership. Your preferred Chrysler
dealership is the best resource for any inquiries you may have and will
be first informed as to when they are expecting to take delivery of a
2017 Chrysler Pacifica Limited model equipped with the Hands Free
Sliding Doors and Liftgate within their vehicle inventory specifically.

Center by calling 1-800-247-9753. When you call, we can connect you
directly to your local dealership, providing your call is during the
dealer's hours of operation.

Thank you for your interest in Chrysler, Ken. Have a great day!

Sincerely,

Maureen
