Question "website not secure!"

I did a software update on my mac today and now I get a "website not secure!" on the pacificaforums.com site. What is up with that? I don't like being insecure.....I won't be able to sleep

The website has never been secure, it is just that now your mac is letting you know. The url for this site is "http" and not "https." What that means is that data that travels back and forth to you from this site can be intercepted, monitored, and (conceivably, although not likely) altered. That really isn't a tremendously big deal since most of what you do on this site is public anyway. It would be a big deal if a banking or e-commerce site was not secure, but not so much with a public forum.

Hey there,

Yup we're aware of this and it's in the works.
We're currently testing https and ssl on a few of our sites.
We want to minimize as many bugs and issues with this before we do a global implementation.
An announcement will be made on the site once we figure the ETA

Taking all the fun out of surfing and having the PC implode...... You know you are breaking the rule "roll it out and let the users debug it....."

Actually, thanks for taking the conservative approach. I hate when the airbag goes off.
