Judging by the poll at the top of the thread it's you and one other, unless you didn't click on it.

Funny, I assumed there were a LOT of older people on here for 2 reasons-

Many if not most have never used a forum before

and

People's perceptions of reality are definitely reflective of their age

Being someone who's moderated and participated in forums for over 16 years, its definitely a different crowd here. I do hope the dynamic gets a little less fuddy duddy and a little more accepting and open debate. Just a thought.

And yes I think thats 100% because of the age group here. As you age you become more set in your ways. A forum is a place to discuss new and different ideas. The two can come in conflict if you aren't careful.

newand different ideas are often good and interesting to discuss. However, the often heard "I believe........' that ignores proven facts makes it difficult to have a discussion.

I had a Grand Caravan from 2010-2014 and then bought a Ram Ecodiesel and now am trying a van again to see if I really need or want the truck. Time wil tell. The van is a lot easier for the dog to get into. It takes up much less garage space and can do a good job hauling most of what I need to haul. It is nice that it still fits 4x8 sheet goods fully covered in sloppy weather. Main drawback is towing boats that are wide. Also at the load limit it can be challenging to pull out of launch ramp with the boat on if it is a wet slippery ramp like many are.

I just finished a 3500 mile road trip with the van and the other drawback is that they are a bit noisy and boomy inside on rough pavement. The truck is much quieter with its body on frame construction and the wheels outside of the passenger compartment. Anyhow with 6000+ miles I am very happy with my PAcifica. I need one more fillup of gas to calculate my overall mileage.

"I believe" may just be another way of saying "I'm not sure if I'm correct" or "that's what I've been told". There are some on the forum who want to modify and upgrade the van and enjoy the challenge of the mechanical aspects. Maybe this is where there is discussion of new and different ideas.

I joined this forum to get answers to problems in dealing with a new product that has lots of electronics that appear to need software updated more often than expected. The indexes in the manuals leave something to be desired so I'm not surprised that people can't find the answer in the manual and ask questions. I normally wouldn't consider joining a vehicle forum, but with this van it has seemed necessary since the dealers don't seem to be ready to solve our problems and we end up having to share what we've learned from our repairs. Thanks for all the help.

It's good to realize that the van appeals to a variety of ages. I suspect that many who read the forum don't have time to be actively involved and are hoping to avoid the dreaded trip to the dealer and being told "working as designed". I doubt this is a typical vehicle forum. The Pacifica isn't a typical vehicle.

I am one of the 70-somethings. No grandchildren yet, just occasional visits from our adult sons and their significant others so we really don't need a people carrier. But I missed the cargo capacity of the Toyota Previa that we had for 15 years. After it died that Previa got traded in for a Prius. Now I have the best of both worlds, a PHEV minivan. Mostly use it for errands around town and carrying R/C planes to the flying field. 2500 miles and still using the original tank of gas provided by the dealer.
