Fisherman help

Hello everyone, would like to know if there are many fishermen out there? I have a question regarding my rod, I would like to change my reel. I had a look at Amazon and there is just a huge selection but before I buy I would listen to some suggestions.

You would have to give more details:
Fresh or salt water?
What species of fish?
Etc.

Agreed.
And what does your rod look like?

I have a cheap Ugly Stik Lite Pro Casting Rod. Not the best out there but still a rod. I was looking at some reels on https://under-the-open-sky.com/best-baitcasting-reels and I think I like what I read about the Concept A3 Casting Reel, might be a bit too expensive for me though...
I suppose I would fish in fresh water.

I gave my father-in-law such a fishing rod. He really likes it.

I'm not very good at fishing, but I want to go with friends to a fresh lake and try to catch some kind of fish. Are there any tips for a beginner?

Send SWMBO to Whole Foods, she always catches fish.

Its unlikely that this is legal and doesn't harm the environment.
