Coming from a Dealership technician, I have yet to see Chrysler deny a warranty Claim based on what oil is used (unless it is clear that lack of maintenance is noticed). I have seen issues with the cam phasers (mostly with gas models) that control variable valve timing. Since oil pressure is needed for correct operation, it seems the first thing to try for a fix is an oil change. Especially if there is no record of a dealership oil change. Reason for that is the technician isn't sure what oil is in it. I'd say that oil weight is important and synthetic is important. Brand, not so much.
