If your block of wood is big enough to spread the load sufficiently, there is no reason why that wouldn't work.

I read this thread a few times and hope I'm not being thick, but did anyone find a good place to put jack stands? I could use the floor jack on the pinch point, but I'd prefer to jack elsewhere and use my stands on the pinch points.

I am in the same situation. I haven't seen anyone who really figured out how to get the Pacifica on a jack stand. If someone found another lift place and tested, please let us know. Would be great to share a photo.

I take it no one has found a solution? Went to do a tire rotation and to my surprise, it only has enough room for either a Jack or Jack stand but not both. Thinking of taking it to a shop that deals with high end wheels out of fear that regular shops will damage my wheels. Any advice?

Bump, any new advice on location for placing a jack stand while the car pinch welds are used by a floor jack? With the way all new cars are being built, a 2post/4post vehicle lift will be a requirement in any home garage for folks that like to do their own maintenance.

This is also what I normally do. However, the underbody panels are fastened to the frame at places where you'd typically put a jack. I don't want to ruin the panels or the fasteners so I'm kinda stumped what to do. I need to rotate the tires soon too.

If you still own any vehicles with tires purchased from Discount Tire, they will rotate your Pacifica tires for free.

This is also what I do. Attached some pictures on the subframe with the panelling removed, and where I put the jack stands. The subframe is attached to the frame in front of the wheels, but also about where the tow hook slots are, it has a metal plate reinforced with C channel behind it, shown in pictures. I jacked where the tow hook slots are since it is reinforced there, and put the stands in front of the wheel before the wheel well ends, where the subframe edge follows the panel. I am also contemplating cutting slots in the panel to use the lower control arm mounts for jack stand locations. The control arm bracket is nicely rounded for the stand, and connected to both the frame and subframe.



If you are just trying to get some clearance for the oil pan by raising the suspension and not raising the wheels off the ground, I would jack in the middle on the subframe under the nose. The subframe is a few inches in front of the panel to plastic shield interface. There are tabs welded to the subframe that the screws for the paneling go to, so the subframe is like 2 inches in front of the panel screws (you can see the tabs for the screws in the attached picture of the subframe the crosses the front.
