Regarding those three plastic retainers that hold the panel behind the glove box, it is very difficult to push in the center part to effect removal because it is very easy to push too hard and cause that center piece to simply fly out the back never to be seen again. I discussed these little monsters with my local dealer parts guy and he found some for me that have small slots in the outer ring that will allow you to easily pry out the center piece slightly outward which allows the retainer to be removed.
Just found this but have now reached our one-year ownership. So guess I need to think about the filter and those little fasteners. I wonder if once you get those little buggers out (hopefully with
the little center buttons) you could cut or file the outer ring yourself in order to provide access to the center button. Does anyone think maybe that is a good idea or is that likely to result in messing up the whole fastener. Is maybe just fussing with it when you need to change the filter a better choice?
