Removing scratches on textured interior plastic

Does anybody have ideas about removing or minimizing scratches on textured, interior, plastic panels? I know there are kits that involve sanding, filling, and using interior spray paint. I have also seen mentions of using a heat gun. Sounds like that could go wrong quickly. Any other ideas other than simply replacing the panel?

The repair kit in this video might cost more than a new panel...

The other option is not to get a car with black interior plastic panels (which show the scratches too easily). Precisely the reason I got the alloy interior.

might be easier to cover them with a vinyl wrap (3M di-noc carbon fiber has a nice flat look to it), my 3yr scratched the **** out of the back seat entertainment system plastic on day 2. bought a booster seat that lowered him down 3" and now he can't reach it.

I tried the heat gun idea as seen on several YouTube videos. I experimented on a lightly scuffed panel from my older car and it seemed to work pretty good. So then I tried it on a Pacifica panel. Do I recommend doing? Probably not. If the scratch is too deep, what can happen as you heat the panel and watch to see if the scratch is removed, the texture of the panel can be disappearing at the same time. Oops. Can't undo.

Why can't they put carpet on the high wear areas, like they used to?

Because that would mean it cost more to produce and they would make less money probably.

2017 Bright white Limited
Black/alloy, advanced safety pack,
U-connect theater. Tri-pane roof. Verde Invictus 22"
Quite a few custom modifications and lots more to come .
