Breaking-in of new Pacifica - initial driving ?

I've question with regards to what is right way for breaking-in new Pacifica in terms of initial driving ? I'm buying my car from Ohio dealership but want to know if it is okay to go at highway speed is okay (I'm little bit of lead-foot, so going 80+ is norm) for extended period of time ? My drive from dealership to back home shows me 7 hours of drive. And I don't want to damage newly acquired van by driving in a manner that hurts it in longer run.

It is ok. The manual has recommendations on it. You can find the manual PDF on line... top of my head was:
- ZERO towing for the first 500 miles
- little bit towing for the next 500 miles
- don't floor the gas from 0 mph (don't remember "when" you can do that )
- interesting one: without breaking speed laws, while coasting at a highway, floor it ... so lets say speed limit is 70 mph... if all is clear, I will drop to 60, and then almost floor it (drop 2 gear) to 75 mph

The manual has good english instructions on it

Dealer told me to "drive it like you stole it", but don't use the cruise control for the first 500 miles. No idea what the cruise control thing is about.

I believe the engine should be operating at varying speeds during the "break-in" period, thus the dealer's advice of don't use cruise control

From the 7th Edition Owner's Manual -

ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS

A long break-in period is not required for the engine and drive-train (transmission and axle) in your vehicle.

Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km). After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable.

While cruising, brief full-throttle acceleration within the limits of local traffic laws contributes to a good break-in. Wide-open throttle acceleration in low gear can be detrimental and should be avoided.

The engine oil installed in the engine at the factory is a high-quality energy conserving type lubricant. Oil changes should be consistent with anticipated climate conditions under which vehicle operations will occur. For the recommended viscosity and quality grades, refer to “Dealer Service” in “Servicing And Maintenance”.

7 hours at 80 is pretty much the entire first 500 miles of the break in. I think you are wise to be a little cautious here. Can you avoid the interstate for the first part of your trip so you vary your speed more? Does it already have some miles on it (dealer demos, etc.)?

Thank you all, took delivery yesterday from Ohio. Drove down 7 hours. Varying between 55-80 on speed and stoping every hour for 5-10 minutes just to give engine some rest. Overall good ride.
