Installed new dash cam

Another snowy day today. Grounded. Decided to install new Viofo A119S dash cam in wife's Pacifica. The part has been on my desk for a couple of weeks. No, did not hard wire to mirror or anything fancy like that. Have Mopar Lifetime Warranty and custom wiring might result in denied claims. Used cigar lighter plug at bottom of console and routed long wire under passenger dash and up along A pillar. Used hair dryer to straighten kinks in wire where it was folded for shipping. Unit is similar to A119 I have in my vehicle.

What no pics? Also I see from tag line H11 Fog, LED brake/turn/tail but what about headlights? Did you upgrade to LED for those?

I have HID (because LED is not offered) however I do have experience with LED headlamps in other vehicles I can see no difference, EXCEPT HID seem to have better spread and illumination.

Even with new cars I can see spotting and some dead (not even light) on the road. It may not be immediately noticeable but every LED headlights have some sort of dark spot here and there.

Anyway just curious you seem like an upgrade, tinker person (as evidence by installing a dash cam) and just curious what you are using dash cam for and what your experience is with LED headlamps.

Hi rparker06. I did indeed change out the 9011 halogen low-beams for VLED Micros on 2/7/2019 per PM back and forth with Fast55. Like you, the big concern is beam pattern. They are a bit pricey, but the pattern is very good. No dark spots and no blinding other drivers. Will update my signature. No plans to upgrade high-beams due to DRLs

I didn't take pics of the Viofo A119S because there really isn't much to see. The unit itself is rather unremarkable looking, but maybe that is what I like about it. Stealthy. Put it on the glass just ahead of the driver's side of the rearview mirror such that it is still within range of the wipers. As mentioned, I have the older A119 in my 4Runner and really like it. There might be pics in the Electronics sub-forum in the "Dash Cam Install" thread. Even if there aren't, that thread is still an interesting read.
