Annual replacement of fob battery.

Ok, maybe a month early, but have busy month ahead and didn't want this to slip by worried that weird things can happen when fob battery weakens or dies.

Were you experiencing any specific issue that warranted the battery replacement? Curious what the charge level on the old battery is if checked. I am 2+ years now on our Pacifica's factory installed FOB batteries and no issues. My RAM 2500 is over 3 years on its factory batteries. Previous vehicles have gone 5+ before needing replaced.

Just changed both my fob batteries last week. Got the message on the dash information system that "fob battery low" coincidently both died within days of each other.

We had a 5th gen T&C that gave us a weird problem with the security system that was diagnosed as being a low fob battery after less than two years, so have been diligent to change batteries every year since then. Since Pac fob has constant RF signaling in or near the vehicle, was thinking it might not last as long as that one. Maybe based on your experience I can give this schedule a bit more flexibility.

YMMV of course - but historically I replaced a FOB battery when I notice the range for remote start being reduced. We bought our Pacifica in December 2016 and it is driven pretty much daily. No indication of low battery yet...

I replaced my key fob batteries when I started getting the "hold the fob to the start button" message. That was around 12 months after taking delivery.
