Thanks for following up, great choice in wheels, love that color too.
The gap will definitely change once you go to a taller tire, like some 245/50/20's but I certainly understand using what you already had available. Good job

I would do the spring in a heartbeat if it were my primary vehicle, but this is the Wife’s and I don’t want to compromise the ride at all. I’ve already got a Dakota RT with lowering springs to fill that void. And my primary car is sporty enough as well. No need to stiffen up the ride on the van for now. I’ll swap out the rubber in a few years and it should take care of most of the gap.
The older I get, the more I appreciate what the OEM engineers did and find myself less likely to modify certain things. Although it would be real nice to air bag it. But I’m not willing to spend that kind of money required to do so. Blah blah blah something about getting older and all that.... 😉
