Kori,

The dealer performed several flashes on 24 Jul 17. One was an attempt to fix the temperature problem. The dealer invoice did not give the TSB for this particular flash. They performed the recall updates yesterday. They said they found no problem related to temperature, but the problem is still there.

Just an FYI, when communicating with ChryslerCares, they advise that you do it through PM (private message), which you can access at the top of this page. Click on that, compose your message with the pertinent info, VIN, your concern/ complaint etc. They can start a file on your complaint, get in touch directly with the dealership, (which is definitely a plus for us) and correspond directly to you. I've not had the need to have to go this route, but I've witnessed their helpfulness on this site, and we're fortunate to have them working on our behalf.

As an added note, the reason for the PM (at least I would think) is that there are so many different threads on this site, that a post could easily be overlooked by ChryslerCares concerning your particular issue.

Yes that's what ours does, after setting in the garage it takes at-least 8-10 miles of driving before it starts updating which is generally about when we're back in the garage so we rarely know the true ambient temperature while in the Van.

Warning, if you take it to a Dealer they will want to take the entire front bumper cover off to access the little temperature sensor, which will probably result in nothing corrected & your time wasted.

If the actual Sensor had an issue there would be an Error Code, which there isn't.

I just had an Oil change & asked the Dealer about TSB is #08-058-17, they said our Pacifica was up-to-date with no updates or TSB's out-standing.

Apparently Phoenix is just Too Hot for the thing.

I have the exact same issue with my 2017 Pacifica as aridenour99 where it takes a bit for the outside temp reading to reflect the correct temperature.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I'm having the same exact problem in my Pacifica Touring L-plus purchased 5/17 and it is driving me crazy! Especially when the temp is stuck in the 30's when it's really in the 60's outside and the heated seats and steering wheel come on automatically. It's a nice feature that I'd really like to use but it is pretty much useless until this issue is resolved.

Hi CindyCox,

A TSB was released in July to correct an issue with the incorrect display of the ambient temperature. This may apply to your vehicle, and your dealership would be able to perform it for you:

"08-058-17 REV. A

SUBJECT:
Flash: BCM Diagnostic and System Improvements
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves updating the Body Control Module (BCM) software.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A customer may describe a higher ambient temperature (up to +12 C (10 F)) being displayed in the cluster and radio than the actual ambient temperature outside the vehicle. This condition can be noticed during normal driving conditions, stop and go driving conditions (the most apparent) and also after an engine cold soak."

Would the Recent Recall Anti-Stall firmware update have the Temperature TSB ? If it did then it didn't Fix our Temperature Update Issue.

No. I tried to have the Temperature TSB applied, and when that didn't help, the ambient temperature sensor was replaced. It seems like it may still be slow to show the accurate temperature outside, but I've decided not to worry about it for awhile. I suspect there will need to be a software update someday since having a new temperature sensor didn't solve the problem. The ParkSense back up feature hasn't been working consistently when backing up (in known places where it used to chime), so when I take the van in for that, I will see how the outside temperature display is doing.

(They didn't have to remove the bumper to replace the ambient temperature sensor.)
