I had hood replaced for rust issues last year on 2017 Pacifica Limited. I was hoping it was isolated problems on early production models.
This month noticed out of nowhere paint bubbles on the bottom of sliding doors. Pain already chipped off. 2 weeks earlier car was completely detailed and inspected and i did not see any paint issues. Yes, i check all door edges for rust since the "hood rust problems". Call it OCD.
My Chrysler dealer told me that Chrysler Company sent memo that they will not replace any panels on Chrysler for rust but instead they want to repair rust. Since my Chrysler dealer shop refuses to repair rust I was told to find on my own other Chrysler dealer that will fix the problem.
I am little bit disappointed with the 2.5 year old van that has rust. I wash the car meticulous very often( at least weekly or twice a week during the winter), including undercarriage and door jams. Car is garage kept.
I have 6 year old VW with 120k miles, in the same climate, taken care of in the same way with no rust at all including suspension parts. Car looks like new with perfect paint and undercarriage.
I really like this van but cant stand rust on body panels.
