Question Check Engine and Turtle light - Day 5 at dealer

This seems to be a recurring issue I'm seeing reported. 2018 Hybrid with 32000 miles. The engine started making a loud roaring noise. Within 20 miles, the Turtle light came on. Car became less responsive. Still some remaining electric charge. 10 miles later, the engine light came on and the car become even less responsive but still drivable. I took it directly to the dealer and they are still sitting on it. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get some movement from the dealer and if this will be a recurring issue? Three recalls have already been dealt with and one is pending the parts to be available. This car is quickly entering lemon law territory.

The word from the dealer is another 15 days until they can even investigate the issue. Case opened with Chrysler.

I was going to escalate your inquiry to this team but it appears you already have a case with them. If you have any questions about it, don't hesitate to send us a direct message with your case number.

Looks like another case of dealer overload where they don't have the staff to attend to the vehicles promptly.

Have you contacted your sales person? Sometimes they can push your priority with the service department.

I would appreciate it. I'm still waiting for a call from my case manager. I'm not sure what internal expectations are at Chrysler or at this dealer, but in my Support role in the finance industry, this level of response would not be acceptable. I'd like to get some movement before I have to wait another weekend.

But I do truly appreciate your prompt response.

My sales person couldn't get rid of me fast enough. They didn't show me anything about the car and never followed up after the sale.

Day 7 at the Dealer with absolutely no movement from them. The Case Manager at Chrysler has also not initiated a call with me. Tick Tock Chrysler, I'm beginning to question whether to ever recommend a Chrysler to anyone.

I had the van towed to another dealer and I am getting good service at this point. It seems to be a new problem for the technicians, but they are getting Chrysler Engineers involved.

I had a similar problem when I was traveling in Texas at the end of last year in my 2018. Once the computer rebooted in the vehicle after 30 minutes I was able to drive, but have continued to get the "service charging system," something that has been a once a week or so problem since taking delivery of the vehicle at the end of 2017. Occasionally the vehicle will not charge initially until the system reboots, if the error coincides with plugging it in to a charger. The vehicle is now at the dealer for the 4th time to have the issue corrected, since Monday they have been working with Chrysler engineers going through the electrical system module by module. Hopefully this time the problem will be corrected.

I can say that at my dealership there is only 2 mechanics out of dozens that are authorized to work on the hybrids for "safety reasons". And in my case, one of them is the shop foreman. Getting his time to work on the van is severely limited. I keep telling myself "It'd be the same or worse if I had bought a Tesla".

I am in near the same boat. Irritating ongoing issues simply mean I am going to be driving a loaner for a month. I don't go too crazy though, they keep giving me a newer ICE Pacifica as a loaner. I have a separate thread about my 2018 Touring pachy rebooting constantly. Knock on wood, it's only when its off, or when I park it. Never when driving.

Keep the faith, and make sure you turn the screws on the support case manager. Document document document.
