2017 Limited Auto Start/Stop not working

Anyone have their Auto Start/Stop not working. Just called Gillman Chrysler in Houston and they can't even get me in for a diagnosis until May 1. Is Chrysler service really this slow? Already irritated that I have had to taken this vehicle in twice for issues with less than 20k miles on the vehicle. It's a van so I'm carry children in it and is very inconvenient. Maybe it's time for a more dependable van with better service.

You're in Houston... go to another dealer if in a rush.

My stop start never works unless I drive really far now- an obvious bad battery issue. Not fully charging so the ESS won't work. year old 12k miles.

I have never been inclined to get it repaired as its inconsequential- and I'm one of the few who like ESS!

When I bring it in for the most recent recall, I'll have them address it.

But implying ESS not working is a threat to your children is ridiculous...

You should be much more worried about the other issues like stalling and the new V15 recall Chrysler has no parts for where your wheel can come off LOL!

Pick your battles or sell the car.

Ironically, its still my favorite van of all time!

I never said that ESS not working was a threat and safety of children. I SAID it was very inconvenient. I bought the vehicle to haul children around and should not have to deal with issues on a brand new vehicle. Waste of time.

And NONE of your issues are a threat to children or your ability to transport them. But you brought them up to make your issue appear more valid.

Logically it doesn't apply.

I have no kids, and taking it to a dealer is just as much a PITA for me as you.

Parents wear their kids on their sleeves like a badge of validation- its bizarre. Children are the future but the amount of times people use them for arguments that don't really apply to their kids is insane. Your kids are driving around in a 40K+ minivan with movies and AC- the trip to the dealer isn't even CLOSE to an issue as you imply. But we are all so spoiled now...God forbid LOL!

BUT, regardless of semantics, NO ESS doesn't work right for MANY MANY MANY owners. And many have had battery replacement only to discover its still bad. Flawed system. Choose your battles.

Unless the OP has more than a few children, or hauls his kids plus friends on a consistent basis. That would be inconvenient if the dealer does not have another van to give him as a loaner.
At another point in our life, we often had 6 or seven kids in the van.
That's why we bought it.
Give him a break.
