Paint on Rocker Panel??

Hi All,

2017 Pacifica Limited with 45K Km on it, 2nd Canadian winter with the van and I noticed this weekend (after doing my spring super clean of the whole car) that there were literally chunks of paint missing from the rocker panel just below the rear passenger/driver side of where the rocker panel meets the sliding doors. It also looks like the bottom part of the panel was sandblasted.... I touched the missing chunks up with OEM touchup, simply cause it looked terrible (yes even worse than the touchup job).. Is this a factory paint issue? Never had this problem with any other vehicle, mind you this is my first Pacifica...

Josh

Hi Josh,
We certainly understand why this may be concerning. If you would like to work with your dealer to address this, we suggest contacting Canadian Customer Care to have this documented. You may find their contact information by clicking on the following link and scrolling down to the "Canada" tab: https://www.fcagroup.com/en-US/foote.../contacts.aspx.

Spoke to my Dealer, and they just informed me the case has been rejected by Chrysler- After waiting for a month for a reply...

YET the exact same issue was evidenced below- and this one was covered by Chrysler Warranty

pacificaforums.com/forum/474-chrysler-pacifica-minivan-issues-problems/11169-rocker-panel-paint-issue.html

Pictures indicate this is exactly what is going on with my Pacifica, not sure why they could for this guy and not for me. He had the same issue at 19000 miles, which is around the same mileage as I have (give or take). I have never seen anything like this before on any of my 10+ vehicles I have owned- it’s obviously a paint quality issue.
Just thought I would mention that it isn’t just the rear of the rockers on both sides but also the fronts of both sides. At this rate, there will be no paint on the rears or front of the rocker panels in the next 10K.
