A/C system malfunctions

So I have a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Touring- L Gas and have a very strange issue. When driving on a hot day with A/C full blast on low it will randomly turn off A/C, turn on Front and Rear defrost, set the Temp to 76F and not allow me to change anything. The Uconnect itself is not frozen as I can change my Radio station I can do everything else but change the Climate control screen. Also the physical Climate buttons do nothing. Cannot turn it off or change anything. Only thing to fix it is to stop the van, turn it off and back on. This usually fixes it. but not all the time. Any ideas what is going on?

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like you need to take the van to the dealer. It might need a software reprogram or update for the AC.
Another suggestion would be to set temperature to something lower than 76F, but not Low, and see what happens. If you have Auto temperature controls, it may be over compensating somehow. You could also open the windows at first to let out some of the hot air so the ac doesn't have to work so hard. (Yes, close the windows after some of the hot air has left the van.)
