Thank you. I'll see if the dealer system is responsive for a reasonable time but will take you up on the offer to assist if they seem to be slow-leaking me.

Got the call from my dealer and have the ball-joint recall scheduled for tomorrow. Supposed to take about 2 hours. So far they have done what they promised and during the latest conversation with them, I was asked if there was anything else I wanted to take a look at so things are looking promising.

No I did NOT ask them to re-look at my Start-Stop system which has reverted to pretty much non-functional again. Wife and I have decided that since it isn't needed for continued safe operation of the vehicle, we aren't going down that rabit-hole again. We'll drive this one into the ground (another 10-15 years) and when the car wears out we'll think about what kind of transportation to get. In the mean-time, not going to worry ourselves about something that is more irritating than needed.

Took the van in for my appointment to have the ball joint recall performed V15/NHTSA 19V-143.

The w/o says "V15 Recall SOP" then goes on to discuss a different recall. It says they "Performed recall V53 Power Steering assist. Removed Lower engine cover, cleaned and adjusted ground cable. 0.5 hours"

When I query the recall data base, the power steering recall (V53) shows it was performed on 9 May 2019. No was not - the van was in my garage at home that day, not in their shop, 15 miles away - and the web site can't pull up the file that explains what recall V53 is. I learned what it was by reading other threads in this forum. And when I looked for status of recall V15, it shows the recall is still pending due to lack of parts. Hmmmm, wonder why they called me to set up an appointment to do the work if they now don't have the parts to do it.

Not real confident in the records. I'll give the database a day (guess the weekend since this is Friday) before I try to take on the dealer to find out what they really did or did not do.
