Extended Warranty Worth It?

I'm opening a new thread per the mod's suggestion

I usually don't get Extended Warranty but in this case with all this "new" technology, is it worth it and does Chrysler's extended warranty adequately cover hybrids since they are fairly "new" to this?

Thinking of adding the 5yr/100km warranty but I don't expect anything to go wrong within this time frame.

I was debating getting the ext warranty too but wasn't sure what the terms were or the cost. I had reached out to my dealership but haven't heard back in 2 weeks.

We got the extended warranty. It's a Chrysler, I'm assuming it will pay for itself soon enough.

Generally my family has had bad experiences with American cars and reliability so we've been buying Japanese and German cars for a while and have never looked back. The Pacifica Hybrid was enough to woo us back to buying an American car but not without much trepidation - hence the extended warranty. Fingers crossed we won't regret giving the Big Three a second chance.

Wonder why another thread? Well, as I had stated before reminder to go online and shop here for a mopar extended warranty....go to Zeigler and can use " Damon2 " for the promocode to get a 200.00 discount. Or call Bob Cline 866.943.7778. I worked a deal out with him to offer this promo to this forum. The lifetime bumper to bumper maxcare is about 2595.00, but they may be less, certainly less than most dealers or even calling Chrysler mopar warranty direct.

I don't normally buy extended warranties, but I'm strongly considering it because this is a Chrysler, first generation, with an electric motor and a lot of technology. If I can get a lifetime bumper to bumper in the $2k range, I'll probably take advantage of it.

I'm in Canada so I can't buy from Ziegler after searching so it looks like I need to get this from the dealer. They only offered 5yr/100km but thinking lifetime is worth it. But again, all this is useless if their warranty does not adequately covers hybrids which this is new to them. Judging how they launched this product, I'm not sure dealers know how to deal with it. The dealers I spoke with didn't have a clue what options were included, how the rebates work so I'm finding out now. Stupid of me not to find this forum and the experience with Chrysler so far has been sub-par. Not a good first impression. And like Mike above, I haven't bought an "American" brand in a long long time.

Which one, how much and where? Yes, too bad we don't have the insurance/warranty selection the US does. I didn't know we could buy a warranty anywhere other than from Chrysler.

Does anyone know who issues the warranties sold by Ziegler. A bumper to bumper warranty for life of vehicle for mid 2K is a pretty good deal. Most of the time wear items like brakes and BATTERIES are not covered but since this battery is an integral part of the vehicle would it be covered?

The battery should already be covered for 10 years by the default manufacturer warranty; 15 years in some states.
