new SDG&E "EV-TOU5" rate plan -- $0.09/kWH !

I don't know if this has been mentioned elsewhere -- and it only applies in San Diego -- but the local SDG&E utility is now offering an "EV" plan with low $0.09/kWH rate overnight (super off-peak, 12-6 am). This is huge, for San Diego, at least. Previously, the best rate available was still $0.19/kWH.

Now, Chrysler just needs to fix the charging scheduler...

Interesting. Does that $0.09/kWh rate include delivery fees? In other words, if you start using 500 kWh/month more than you were using does your bill only go up by $45?

Wow - guess we've had it pretty great in Texas. I'm on a 9-mo 0.07/kwh plan, no on/off peak times. I can't fathom a 0.19c/kwh charge.

Does that 7 cent/kWh include all delivery fees, taxes, etc? If you divide the total bill by the number of kWh used what do you get?

Yea it's all inclusive, net rate after all fees. Texas has a great site where you can go and compare all net prices (lots of companies available supplying from the same energy supplier.)

And I thought my $0.08 per kWh 24/7 was good. You've got it for 12.5% less than I. We pay $12/mo connection fee, but since I like lights on at my house we will pay that regardless.

Yes, but your bill would go up $45 + $16, because there is a $16 monthly charge for customers on this EVTOU5 plan. As long as you're able to use more than 150kWh per month during Super Off-Peak hours it's certainly worth making the switch.
