No issue. As long as it's put into service in 2018, the credit will be on 2018 taxes.

For what it's worth I did double check with an accountant before we ordered the 2019 just to be sure and he said it's strictly based on the number of vehicles sold, once the company reaches 200k, as with the case of Tesla, they start to phase out. You can go here to see updated sales through Nov 2018, FCA is not projected to hit the 200k limit until 2025 at this rate.

The IRS website link you posted says explicitly that it's up to 200k vehicles before the credit phases out. There's verbiage about 'manufacturer has submitted appropriate info to verify the below vehicles', I'd imagine that information would include vehicle sales and the kWhr ratings for the batteries (which determines how much the credit is). With it only being 1 month in and the government shutdown stuff, I can see why it might not be updated. I glanced through some of the others and some manufacturers have the 2019s listed, some do not.

If you go to Chrysler's website it has in big bold under the 2019 hybrid section that "The 2019 Pacifica Hybrid Qualifies for the $7500 Federal Tax Credit". Appreciate it's a little unnerving not to see it explicitly shown on their website but short of them just pulling the credit all together, and doing so retroactively for any vehicles purchased in 2019 up until they pull it, I just don't see how a pacifica hybrid purchased today would not qualify.

We go through this every year... the IRS does not always update their website in a timely fashion.

I think it was February or March of 2018 before the 2018 model year showed up (for several manufacturers), and everyone was asking the same question about whether their new car would get the credit. If the prior year model was eligible, the new year is probably also going to be eligible as long as the manufacturer hasn't reached the sales limit. FCA is nowhere close to 200K sold, so the 2019s should be fine.

I filed my taxes on Monday, 02/18, using TaxAct, and I claimed the $7,500 tax credit using Form 8936. They were accepted by the IRS a few minutes after I filed them. At that time the 2019 Pacifica wasn't on the IRS website. Maybe my filing pushed them to update the website! LOL!
