We own a 2019 Hybrid Limited and have the issue that the back seat screen (driver side) functions about 10% of the time. The other one works fine. It's been for this about 6 months now. Tried a number of things including all the resets etc and replacing fuse 55, but no structural improvement.

I'm at a loss here, and since we imported this car to Europe we don't have a dealer here who knows this car and can help us out. Any other options we can try?

How does it not work? Does it not turn on? Does it fail during operation? What? Might be a loose connector.

It doesn't turn on 9 times out of 10 when 'opening' the screen. Sometimes it works for a few minutes but then shuts off again. A loose connector could be the problem, but is that something I can check (and solve) myself easily?

seems easy enough to remove and install. It should be a warranty item and it doesn't seem like it would take it out to check the connector. Honestly it sounds like a bad ribbon. When I say ribbon I'm talking about the connector that goes to the actually screen & backlight. Like a laptop, wires are too big and would wear fast with opening and closing so instead they made a super thin plastic ribbon with conductors in the ribbon. They are so thin it doesn't take much to break or make the connection so when it's opened JUST right it will work. I'd say if one is working and one isn't that it's the unit and should be replaced under warranty. I'd try to get them to swap the units between the two seats, if the problem moves with the units you know for sure that is with the display unit and if it stays with the seat then you know your problem is elsewhere - either case I'd think a 2019 would be warrantied. If they fight you on it it wouldn't be hard to do troubleshoot it yourself at home, just put it back they way it was when you're done

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL

1. Power down the 12-volt system (Refer to 08 - Electrical/Standard Procedure).
2. Remove the front seat back panel (Refer to 23 - Body/Seats, Front/PANEL, Seat Back, Front/Removal and Installation).

3. Remove the two video monitor to seat back screws (1).
4. Disconnect the video monitor electrical connectors (2) and remove the video monitor from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Position the video monitor into the seat back, and connect the video monitor electrical connectors (2).
2. Install the two video monitor to seat back screws (1).
3. Install the front seat back panel (Refer to 23 - Body/Seats, Front/PANEL, Seat Back, Front/Removal and Installation).
4. Power up the 12-volt system (Refer to 08 - Electrical/Standard Procedure).

Here's step 2 from the procedure I posted above that contains important warnings!

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL

WARNING

Disable the airbag system before attempting any front seat diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable and wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to follow these instructions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.

1. Before proceeding with the following repair procedure, review all warnings and cautions (Refer to Body/Seats - Warning).
2. Position the seat fully forward.
3. Using a small flat bladed tool, remove the screw covers and the four screws (2).
4. Starting at one side of the seat back panel (3), use a trim stick or equivalent to release the retaining tabs and pull rearward to loosen the seat back panel.
5. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the media hub (1) and the video monitor if equipped, then remove the seat back panel.

INSTALLATION

1. Connect the wire harness connector to the media hub (1) and video monitor if equipped, then install the seat back panel (3).
2. Install the four screws (2) and tighten securely.
3. Install the screw covers.

It has been noted by other forum users that in the colder weather months the pressure switch that cuts power to the screens when closed will get stuck and will not actuate properly when opening. In my T&C, and all T&Cs for that matter, if opened and closed too many times, the ribbon cable would break causing the screen to not work anymore and the entire unit would need to be replaced or taken apart and the ribbon cable replaced. After my experience with those screens, I have never closed them in the Pacifica since owning it as I knew too many open and closes could potentially cause various problems like my T&C. It is disgusting these Uconnect screens failing by opening and closing have not been figured out over the past decade and with the design changes, it is just another problem.
