After driving my Pacifica home from work the other night, I noticed a loud noise when braking. when i got home and inspected rotors, I found the read left (drivers side) Rotor was damaged and the pads all but gone. All other Rotors were fine, with life left on the pads.

A friend of mine came over to "help" with the Brake Change, and dismantled the rear brakes. after trying unsuccessfully to Retract the Brake Caliper Piston, he did some further research and noticed that it was SUPPOSED to have been put into service mode PRIOR to removing the Caliper, which he DIDNT do.

Now, in trying to put the Brakes into Service mode, the message pops up "Service Mode is Not Available. Release Park Brake"

Is there ANYTHING we can do at this point to rectify his mistake, or am I stuck now Trying to get it towed to my Dealership (Who has been UNABLE to do anything in a proper timeframe).

This is a very specific procedure that unfortunately wasn’t found out in your case until too late in the process. Did you try pressing the parking brake button to release them like the message said to do?

Idk if it’ll do anything but you can try to disconnect the negative cable on the battery and see if that resets it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Is there any way you can reinstall the calipers and then try to put it into service mode? Then disassemble and service the brakes.
If you cant get the caliper back on, perhaps try to place a block of wood in the caliper(s) so the pistons cant pop out, press the brake pedal till pedal firm and then try to get into service mode

Get 12v power and wire directly to the 2 pins on the motor and have it retract. Issue is it is out of position with the other side.

The original problem could be a bad/dragging caliper though since only that side was worn down so much.
