We have had issues with our 2017 Chrysler Pacific from almost a few months of buying it 2 years ago. I have had it in for the transmission issues at least 5 times. The transmissions jolts or juts forward at stops and has begun to roll out when parking. It has also begun to slip and clunk at about 15 mph with the most recent events being severe jolts. The service team at Sarah’s Chrysler keep insisting it is the TCM control module which has been adjusted 3 or 4 times now with 3 check engine light issues for this issue. I believe the vehicle is unsafe to drive and need assistance.

Private message @ChryslerCares and get a case number. Have the dealer contact Chrysler when you take the van in. This is a known issue and the Chrysler techs can assist your dealer. There are many posts about transmission issues in the forum if you search community.

We are have a very similar experience with our 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. I have taken it to the shop three times because it is jolting bad like the transmission is Slipping. Now the starter is sticking in the service shifter light is coming on . A green light between the Bobben six is now lit up in my PNRDL panel goes out. There are some days I can push the button to start and it doesn’t start . What a few minutes hit it again and it will stick and then start. We have barely had this vehicle two years I have never been more disappointed .

It also sounds like your battery (or batteries) may need checked which is a different issue than the transmission problem. Batteries were covered under the 36 mo/36,000 warranty for my van. I'm on my third battery. Several forum members had batteries replaced before three years.

Contact @ChryslerCares as mentioned earlier in this thread. I had the transmission adaptations cleared twice and then the timing on the clutch pack was adjusted at 45,000 miles. Even if the solution lasts 10,000 to 15,000 miles before something has to be done again it is nice to have smooth shifting for awhile. You can check my other posts about the transmission issues since there are other people's experiences in those threads as well.

I just dropped our van off this morning because now I’m getting something about my parking brake . Also it’s now telling me there’s no key flob in the car when there is a key flop in the car. The key flob indicator came on when I drop my first daughter off at the junior high and stayed on until I dropped my second daughter off. When she open the sliding door to exit the van the light went off. When I dropped it off at the dealership my dial indicator lights were working but I turn the car off and restarted it and the lights went out. The service repair guy got to see that happen. He also was able to see service shifter when I started it. The jolting we have going on is Happening when the transmission would normally be shifting gears. I noticed it the other day when we were around 20 mph. This issue is unpredictable. I don’t know exactly what’s going on with this vehicle I just know that I am very unsatisfied with the issues and the vehicle itself.

Sounds like fob battery needs replaced also. Our fob batteries died within a week of each other so it would probably be good to change the battery on all fobs. One CR2032 battery per fob.

Hello Alex,

As I had told the dealership when they returned my vehicle after reflashing the transmission software for the 5th or 6th time within a few weeks it has started acting up again now the jolt is happening at 35 to 40 mph and there is a slight delay but no clunking at lower gears. I am unsure what to do at this point.

What is really sad is I told the Service advisor when I walked out, “see you in a few weeks”. Clearly the transmission issue is something they can not fix. I would like to know how I file an official complaint with Chrysler.

We are having the exact same problem. Service did something in July that they said fix it but the jerking started again. I’m at a loss as to why Chrysler has not recalled the 2017 models to replace the transmission.

I had the exact same issue! Fought for 2 years to get it fixed! Every dealership told me I was crazy! Finally got it fixed in August and no issues with the transmission since! There is a piece inside the transmission that is misshaped, it was faulty part upon manufacturing, they replace that part and it has zero issues! The mechanic said he googled the issue and found tons of pacifica owners having this same issue, he read how they fixed it, copied and it worked!

He probably replaced the valve body. That’s what seems to be the common thing that needs replacing. Mine was replaced as well I’m July but the jerking just restarted. I’m actually going on tomorrow and they are going to run a new software update to see if it helps but the service manager said if not it looks like I’ll be getting a new transmission. It’s absolutely unbelievable that Chrysler has not recalled all 2017 models with this issue for replacement. It’s an awful awful way to run a company and we’ll be getting rid of it ASAP. I have 3 personal friends with 2017 models and the exact same problem.

Agreed! Not to mention the airbag issues, engines stalling at high rates of speed. Ours does all the above plus it has a fun issue! When you're in a curve the steering wheel will stick and you have to jerk it to get it out. No matter how slow or fast you're going, it's worse when the lane sense is off. It's crazy. Our doors also started leaking and our seatbelts were getting soaked everytime it rains..and when they fixed that they tore out the casing, bolted the belts to the floor and left it that way..oh, and broke the doors...all Chrysler approved. Ridiculous. My family faulted me for buying a new model and one with so many computers... I said it's not the luxury or entertainment stuff that's the issue, it's the engine, transmission, airbags and seatbelts that are the problem!

All of the problems we are having should be reported to NHTSA whether they have been fixed or not. Without a complaint to them, they can't not start an investigation. It is imperative that we all lodge complaints with them to force Chrysler's hand.

We are having the same transmission issue with our 2017 Touring Plus and it is in the service dept now. They are waiting to hear from a Chrysler engineer in Michigan before they do the valve body swap and I think also a TCM. We are in the process of sending complaints and have talked to several Customer Cares reps and a Steve Stander the Executive Referrals Manager, his number is 586-274-8086 if anyone is interested, at corporate who was supposed to get with the dealership when we apprised him of when it was going in but we have left 4 messages that it is in service and no response and he hasn't called the dealership. If we wouldn't lose a big chunk of $$ we would dump it. Sad thing is I love the van just with the trifecta of transmission, radio and hood paint problems all before our 2nd payment it's hard to want to drive it.

As a side note on our radio problem I was speaking to Uconnect today and a rep told me they take the problems discussed on the forums with a grain of salt since they don't know as a second owner what we might have monkeyed around with and you know some of the people on the forums believe they live next door to aliens. And yes that's what she said. I was flabbergasted that a customer service agent would even intimate something like that whether they believe it or not. No wonder we have a hard time getting assistance.
