This is the first available update for our 2018, and it may be the last at this rate. $100 is still a bit steep for an update that's already a year out of date. It's not 2005 anymore. There are plenty of other options available.

I ordered it and it says it ships to your house - I'm guessing a usb stick or cd?

For those who are interested in getting the GPS update for the built in navigation:
Thanks, just pre-ordered it. Everyone should start here to verify this is compatible with their vehicle.

Uconnect® | Navigation System GPS Map Update Home

When I got the required info entered into the website, it linked to the version 3 (V3) update. It also states that my version will require one software update included with the update drive. Not two as stated on the V2.

This is the version it specified for my software information entered.

2020 North American Map Update for Uconnect® 4C NAV w/ 8.4" touch-screen (v3): For U.S. Only | HERE

This new release is available for pre-order sales. You may place an order, but It will not ship until it is in-stock approx. February 15th. Your credit card will not be billed until the product ships. **

1) This map update is only compatible with U.S. Vehicles with 4C NAV with 8.4" touch-screen that has Application Versions MR-28.3+, JR or QR

2) You will receive a Software Update with your Map Update Package. The Software Update must be installed prior to the Map Update

Note the software update.
I noticed this too. It almost has to be delivered on a USB drive. It would make things really difficult if they shipped it on a CD/DVD. The van doesn't have an optical drive unless you have the Uconnect theater option. Even then, I doubt it's connected to the radio in a way that allows data to be sent to it. Very few computers come with an optical drive these days as well.

I ordered it. I followed the link to get the Radio Part Information. The directions on that site leave room for confusion. They ask for the first 4 numbers after the 2 letters (IR in my case). In the cited example you get QR-34.5. That's pretty clear. However mine comes up IR SBX 22.50-2 (and more). So what is with the "SBX"? It turns out that you need to just ignore it and enter the "22.5" and you get joy. The web site doesn't like the letters.

I also went thru the UConnect website to see if it was compatible. Like Waldo, our has "IR SBX 22.5....", so I entered "IR" in the first field and "22.5" in the second. It then brought up the order entry (must be compatible, eh?) screen so I, too, bought it. This will be first map update available since new. The scary part will be installation. The last time that the dealer did a UConnnect update it destroyed the head unit and it took four months to get a replacement!

Sure hope they get any updates right so our units are not bricked.

Yeah, and my current map version is from the third quarter of 2017. Way out of date.

I'll have to check again, but I'm sure that is the same information I saw for my 2018. Still not sure I will spring for this update, as I have not used the NAV more than 2 or 3 times over the last year. And that was just to see how it works. Getting older and not travelling anywhere that I do not know how to get to. Thanks Covid.

Yes, with COVID, currently I know 25 that have died from it in the last few months. Was holding at 24 the last three weeks until yesterday. Too many that I know that have been sick or permanently damaged I have lost count of those.

We planed on a lot of travel when we bought the Pacifica and even got the 8 years/125,000 mile extended warranty. Now at almost two years in, the Pacifica sits with 16,000 miles. 😕

I do use the maps from time to time, not as much as I had planned. I especially like the feature of setting up an address or route and sending to the vehicle through the phone app. You can even do this the night before you leave. As soon as you get in and start the vehicle the screen pops up the sent info and asks if you want to start the navigation to the destination. It is better than sitting there trying to find a location when you are ready to go. There have been a couple of destinations it could not find but I was able to manually input the GPS coordinates to force it to give me directions to the destination. That's when Google maps come in handy.

I just tried to access updates for my vehicle, but because of the version number, IR 19.12, there is no update available yet. Something about Canadian version maybe???

Mmmm . . . mine was built about a month before yours, but has a newer update. I don't think it's Canadian, as the maps are for all of North America including Mexico. I did get an over the air update about a year ago, and there was substantial improvement in the maps. You might check with your dealer, or contact Uconnect to see why you don't have that newer version.

Maybe something to do with the trim level. You have a Limited, mine is Touring L Plus. And being a previous daily rental, it appears it was special ordered as there was no Uconnect Theatre as was listed as included in this trim level.

I'm still thinking if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thanks for the input. I edited it so people don't inadvertently get the wrong version.
