So contacted Uconnect today and they are doing a ticket to get me the OTA updates then I will have to go to the dealer to get the 39 update.. I don't get why they aren't just pushing this all down? Like why make me call and specifically ask for the OTA updates?

Good Luck. I've been in contact with them since July with no progress. They were unable to push the OTA update so the next step is to replace the radio. I've got an appointment next week at the dealer to get that taken care of along with a bunch of other things that need to be fixed. Keep us posted. Hopefully you have a better experience.

lol I literally have no hope at this point.. Every time I've dealt with Chrysler and dealers it's been a nightmare. Like the Z11 recall and them only taking 4-5 hours to do it and me asking "are you absolutely sure you did it correctly because the document talks about 1.5 days"

"Oh no that is only if we need to replace the battery"

"So your sure"

"yes the service manager himself signed off on it"..............

I'm getting my VRM replaced and front left strut(I told them about a lot of people already getting struts replaced but it never resolves the issue) "Well we will just have to see won't we?" Yeah.. and i'll have to drive another 30 miles each way when it doesn't work.. meh..

Just thought I'll give my experience. I have a 2018 Pacifica hybrid with maps there were outdated. I ended up having to take it to the dealership in order for them to flash the latest version in order to get the latest map installed. I was lucky to have a month or so left on my factory warranty so it was taken care of as warranty. The explanation I was given was if the vehicle never applied updates OTA and falls behinds then it will require dealership to perform the update. Since owning the vehicle I never seen an OTA on my vehicle. I did purchase the vehicle later prior in mid 2019. So I wouldve assumed it sat awhile and missed some OTA, if there were any. But we'll see if there are any OTA in the future.

I was given the same answer. Except the dealership tried to flash the latest update and it failed to take. So now it's possibly a radio replacement. @ChryslerCares has been helping me navigate everything. Hopefully it works out.

Ah okay. I think I know what happened because it was the same issue with mines originally. Ask the dealer if they installed the updates in order or if they just installed the latest one? If they went to just the last one then it's going to fail. They did that to mines as well. First the tech installed last one but failed then he went through all the updates. They had to install it in order for it to get updated to the last one.

For mines, I had the following three installed.
Uconnect_8.4_UAV_IR19.12_NAV_RU_MY18
Uconnect_8.4_UAV_MR28.4_RU_MY19
UCONNECT_8.4_UAV_QR39.5,MY19-21-RU,WK

That's probably exactly what happened. I'll mention it to the dealer. I have an appointment tomorrow. Thank you.

See knowing my dealer they will charge me for each update... They charge $60 PER UPDATE... My only hope is two things. The Uconnect people actually push me the OTA's like was documented above. Or when they install my new VRM they have to update my radio to match a version on the VRM? I hope?

Guess my other hope is they are stupid, flash the last update, then say "well guess that didn't work and we will have to replace the radio" and then it's covered under lifetime warranty

@Jerky_san Thats interesting. I guess that's good that it'll be a whole new unit and hopefully that's under warranty. This pdf is that describes the process for updating the uconnect radio but for another vehicle. See screenshot. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2021/MC-10190696-9999.pdf. There's one for the pacifica hybrid but I cant locate it. If I find it, I'll link it.

Just adding in case for future reference.

This is a pic from my previous service. As you can see the tech's note was could not update to 39.5 had to first do 28.4. So if yours is as old as mines, this is what I had to do before I was able to update my map.

There is this pdf that I found https://www.tsbsearch.com/Chrysler/08-105-21/346#toolbar=0&view=FitH that might be the reason for a replacement, but I think it really depends if they can update it or not. Good luck and hopefully either way if they are able to update or replace, you'll be with a new version. Maybe if they replace it, it'll come with a newer map already. Mines was from 2016 so that was the reason why I wanted to update. I couldnt find locations for newer places.

Welp apparently Uconnect is trying to get the dealer to replace my radio saying they didn't think the updates would go well...
That's exactly where I'm at with my radio @ this point. Waiting for the part to come in.

Thanks a lot.. I appreciate the docs. It would appear mine is going to be the three usb sticks if they have to do it that way. The woman I was speaking with didn't think it would go over great.

Did they tell you if they'd pay for it, your own pocket, or do you have an extended warranty?
They said the cost would be covered. If not I do have an extended warranty that'll cover it. It's just a matter of getting all the people involved to talk to each other and coordinate. It's been a run around since June/July when I first started to deal with this between attempting software updates and deciding what to do and having ChryslerCares actually communicate with the dealer and vice versa.

A new radio was ordered and they will get it in soon. Strangely I had my z11 recall(the dealer didn't perform it correctly) and Chrysler still doesn't show me having the recall.. This other dealer was wanting to schedule me for it.

New radio was installed today with all updates. It seems faster and I like the changes they made. I highly suggest if you want the new uconnect you contact uconnect and tell them your radio isn't updating properly.

Btw..the radio when I first turned on the car had "uconnect marketplace"

Hopefully that's the issue @gmfreak. Good luck and keep us posted.
Was not the issue with doing the updates in order. They all failed to apply. They have a new head unit on order right now. @ChryslerCares has been helpful with this. Unfortunately it's not the biggest issue with the van. I'm going to be in need of a new head gasket as well.
