Never buying another Chrysler and thankful we bought an extended warranty. Here are the issues, prior to the stop start recall, I took my van in to dealership to have the start stop issue looked at. They indicated it was the stop start battery, which they replaced. 2 days later my vans electrical shuts down in the middle of an intersection and it turns itself off. Luckily i was able to restart it. when it restarted the check engine light for the stop start feature was back on. And the stop start feature had stopped working. I didn’t have time to go back to the dealership and leave my van with them again so I just didn’t fix the stop start issue.. A few months later we got the recall notice. I took it in to have the recall worked on which they said they performed however the stop start feature still never worked I gave up and just decided it wasn’t worth the hassle. Now about nine months later I have an engine issue with cylinder four misfiring. I don’t even know where to begin with all the other issues we’ve had that are unrelated to the engine but I would never ever buy another Chrysler again. Can anyone tell me if the recall/stop start issue and cylinder issues are related?

Look up the battery issues related to both batteries and the ess issue . The batteries basically drain each other , and just replacing one battery doesn’t mean that the secondary battery isn’t bad as well . As well as cylinder number 4 , is it plug related or coil pack related ? . Being your vehicle is 5 yrs old , I can’t comment on mileage as well as service history of it , just not you know the service history of it . Battery issues have been posted on here for both the main as well as the smaller battery .
