My 5000 miles 2018 Limited Pacifica got a big Unconnect malfunction tonight. The Unconnect center console display keeps rebooting itself every 15-20 seconds. I tried to turn off the van and restart ( multiple times) but that did not fix the problem. Also holding down mute and tune to reset the system didn't help either.

The display functioned normally earlier of the day. No sign of any other electronic or battery problems. Battery volt level was 14.5 so I guess it is still healthy. No software update was done before that. But i am not sure if any update had been pushed to my car today OTA without my notice and consense.

Also the apple Car play USB port quitted working. Needless to say I have no access to very limited access to many functions that can be accessed thru uconnect interface only.

I tried to search online and seems this is a problem haunted different version of the Uconnect system in other FCA products as well and I am not sure if there is a real solution ecept replacing the unit.

Very stressed and more disappointed. Anyone experienced the same thing? Any known solution or what did the dealer do to resolve the problem?

I doubt whether you would have missed the installation of the over-the-air update. It does ask for permission. If you did have the update the startup logo would include the SiriusXM logo as well as the Chrysler logo.

I would try pulling the fuse for the UConnect system, wait a few seconds then reinstall it. If you have the Limited Hybrid it is fuse F76. Not sure about the gas version.

If they do have to replace the UConnect radio it is a quick and easy job, but you could well have to wait while the dealer gets a replacement.

Dealer told me yesterday morning that they got over 40 cases shared the same problem between 2/9 and 2/10 morning. The guy suspected something went wrong with the software but they didnt know how they could help without Chrysler got involved. So, he asked me to wait couple more days until they found out more. I am expecting a follow up call from the dealer next tuesday or I will call to find out. Uconnect support desk had no clue what was happening. They checked said the only way to relsove the problem was visiting the dealer.

Spoke to UConnect

I called the support number on the UConnect website and they said the rebooting is due to the update they pushed out on Friday and is affecting all 2018 models. He said they are working on a fix but it won't be available until the end of February! That's a 2+ week lead time!

That is totally unacceptable to me. There should be a away to have the dealer reflash the unit to the original working version.

At this point, dealer cant resolve problem until TSB is issued. In meantime, I would not bother having dealer replace the head unit if it indeed is a software issue. In my experience, with software reboot loop, here is the The core problem found in a boot loop is a miscommunication that prevents the uconnect operating system from completing its launch. This can be caused by corrupt app files, faulty installs, viruses, malware and broken system files.

In other words, software team will need time to figure what in the world did they miss.

This will cause Chrysler a PR nightmare. Why, it will be most likely they will not be able to push a OTA fix. Most likely either give owners USB stick update or visit the dealer which is not my personal preference.

Good luck everyone, stay tuned

I have had my 2018 Pacifica for less than 1 month, just about 1000 miles and this began today with the console rebooting itself every 20 secs.... doesn't give me a whole lot of confidence that i made the right decision choosing a Chrysler.
I plan to contact the dealer tomorrow morning. What can i expect them to do? It isn't easy for me to get into the dealer .

I'm having the same issue. I hope it doesn't take until the end of February to fix....my commute will feel so much longer without the radio! Plus it's really annoying to see the constant reboot out of the corner of my eye.
I wish it would be just the radio
The backup camera going blank while pulling into a spot is no fun... Never mind the Bluetooth phone connection not useable

0 for 2 for them on over the air updates. Last one for 2017s “bricked” a number of units now this one with reboot loop. Wonder if they’ll stop this roll-out like they did the last one.

There is something seriously lacking in the preroll-out testing. Must be some configurations that aren’t in their test suite at all.

Guess I should count myself lucky never had any issues with the OTA uconnect updates. Wonder why FCA would have problems with the update?

Android I can understand since you have so many different types of phones/chipsets with different OS versions but with our pacifica's you figure all the cars have the same components and software versions.
Only issue might be internet connection.

Hope you guys with issues get fixed soon.

I am affected too, annoying and inconvenient.
2018 reboot loop
wife nagging
no one has fix,

headquarters are aware, software update for sure created this problem!
brand new 2018 dodge challenger gt same issue started today Sunday February 11th 2018 Very frustrating with only 1500 miles on the car, I travel 250 miles to work and the rebooting is driving me crazy even if i turn off the screen and shut off the radio the reboot still occurs. I also noticed that even with the car off it keeps cycling the reboot on top of that other systems are malfunctioning like my ac comes out warm. I saw many posts about u-connect issues in 2017 when i researched my problem. I am wondering if fco knew about the issues and made lemonade. Im going to contact the dealer and request a refund if they cant fix it immediately. I traded in my GT dart a perfectly good car for a lemon it seems.

Experienced the reboot yesterday, though neither the wife nor I have seen any update pop ups. Little one was not happy on the drive home. Reboot started after I got a weather alert pop-up and I clicked on show map (which I have done before with no issues). When it started I was backing out of a long dark driveway using the 360 camera and it all went black.

Yes I have the same problem.. I received an OTA update on Friday which said it successfully completed. Van worked fine Friday and Saturday then suddenly on Sunday the system keeps rebooting (approx every minute). I also noticed that 4 apps suddenly disappeared.
