We have had our pacifica for about 18 months now and everything had been going great and love the vehicle. We just got the recall completed about 1 month ago and since then have been having issues with charging. Had no problems at all for the first 17 months of ownership but now we get a check engine and a "service charging system" when we plug it in at home, took it to the dealership and they reset the system and charged it up and it apparently worked fine, worked for us for about a week and then same issue. Won't charge and when the electric motor tries to run it sounds like a jet engine. took it to the dealership again today and was told that they reset the system and changed fine again. The technician is now telling us he thinks it is something with our electric at our house and that we should get the electric checked. We are using level 1 charger. Anyone with similar? No problems at all over the first 17 months until we had the recall happen.

Did you ask dealership to charge with Level 1 to replicate issue?

What recall ? Have you tried using a dedicated level
2 charger and see what happens ?

This seems to be a pretty common problem. I think they'll have to issue a recall at some point. There are a number of threads about the failure(s) which don't really seem to get corrected until they replace the "onboard charging module", whatever that is. A search of the forums for "service charging system" - returns over 200 hits.

Service charging system could be from a bad charge plug , a poor ChargePoint hookup , a bad charging station fault , faulty charger level 1 , bad circuit , etc etc . It’s not always the module that is the culprit .

True enough. But it's pretty clearly a charging module issue if it occurs when the car isn't plugged in - no plug, no ChargePoint, no charging station, no level 1 charger, etc., etc. It's all in the car.

Yes but vast amount of posts on that have been with people who don’t understand charging circuits ans assume that you just plug it into the vehicle and current just flows .
