Hello everyone I am a proud and new owner of a 2020 Pacifica Touring L.

I have noticed that it idols a little rough and I only get about 18.5 MPG highway.

My wife was driving it and she got a check engine light. I put the OBD2 on and the error code was P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire detected).
Scrolling thru the forums here I noticed the TSB 09-013-20(spark plug issue)

So I am going to change my plugs out and replace that #4 ignition coil just for good measure.

But for the life of me I cannot find the Spark gap tolerance , dose any one know what it is?

also this is my first time poking and prodding in the vehicle, dose any one have any useful tips in regards to changing out the spark plugs or ignition coil?

Thank you very much in advance.

Don't know the gap, but this might help - it isn't the best video....but ought to help.
Also... How many miles? Be advised there are numerous reports of head gasket failures that often first appear as cylinder misfires......
Be sure to check your coolant - both the level and appearance, and check the oil level and appearance as well....Those can provide clues of a head gasket failure.
I hope not.

EDIT: As for the miles off the top of my head they in the 76,000's

OEM plugs are often pre-gapped. Just make sure to protect the ends before installing.

In case any one needs to know, The GAP is 0.043 in / 1.1 mm and recommended MOPAR Spark Plugs as per the service manual.

I wont be using MOPAR however.

EDIT: I have ordered the parts and will post an up date.

Hopefully you chose to go with a quality plug like NGK Iridiums instead of the garbage factory Champions.
I just did mine at 71k and the factory plugs were eroded to over .065" gap with the electrodes being almost completely no existent.

The factory 100k interval has been known bunk on Pentastar engines for years now, but keeping it keeps "ownership costs" down for potential buyers, so they keep it as it knowing the average buyer will sell before it causes issues.

I would love to see a breakdown of "HG issues" and bad spark plugs combined to see the correlation between poor maintenance and HG issues. Bad combustion causes excess cylinder pressures which can easily take out head gaskets, so I would love to see a comparision.

I know on my old pentastar Town and country the plugs still looked pretty good when I swapped then at 100k. I don't plan to change them early on our pacifica.

The coils showed lots of arcing as well.

Of the 6 Pentastars in our driveway, none have made it over 60k miles without mild misses. It's always coils and plugs, it's always misdiagnosed by mechanics, the plugs are always eroded severely.

Our Pacifica is at 75K and running fine/no misfires. We do have a lot of highway driving vs in-town so maybe that helps? Barring some issue with the van it'll be another year and a half or more before I change the plugs.
