This just happened to us today. Our car is a 2022 Pinnacle with under 1000 miles on it! Barely a month old!

We didn't make a video, but same thing. driving and then car suddenly died. blinking lights when in D and everything. Luckily was able to get it back on by turning car off, opening the driver door to 'turn the car off' off. and closing it and restarting the car. Just got the Uconnect health report as well, and am seeing these errors reported.

Going to take the car to the dealer tomorrow to see what's going on. Can't have this car randomly turn off with two kids inside on a busy highway/road.

Recorded for reference:

While driving with over 20 mile for electric range the car decides to cut all propulsion and heating. The dash reported charging system failure and to switch the car to park.
I managed to coast from the furthest left lane to the the curb lane as traffic was pretty tame so early in the morning. any other time I would be stuck in the fast lane.

I called for tow as I could no longer move the car. While waiting for tow the car reset itself (about 15min from incident) and I was able to drive to the closest dealer. The dealer noted a code for Motor A position error.
I also noticed that right before the failure the car was making a growling sound from the electric motor. It sounded like the motor was overloaded but i was going down a hill with little power usage. The growling sound was most likely while regenerating energy .

I am now without a car for the third time on this car
First time the heater failed at 9800 miles discussed here : 2021 PHEV heater failure at 9800K
2nd time was exact same issue while driving on gas motor - getting to stop sign with same issue. - no propulsion and growl and put in park messages. ....
3rd time while on HW.
Please report what happened to NHTSA

So to me they are going to have to crack open every one of our transmissions once they design a new wiring harness.
It seems highly unlikely that they are going to fix every transmission out there. They will just fix the ones that break. From a regulatory standpoint the safety issue was the sudden loss of power at high speed. The software update will apparently prevent that loss of power, allowing for the owner to pull over safely when able. and then you'll get a new transmission. I don't expect Chrysler is about to crack open over 67,000 hybrid transaxles. If the defect becomes more common then NHTSA could order something like that, but it doesn't seem likely at this point.
