There were ONLY 5 available in the US currently in this color. Tried vehicle transfers to my state but dealers that had them would not let them go. Did the deal over the phone and drove 7 hours to another state to pick it up. The dealer rolled out a red carpet when I arrived (never had that done before). They had it fully charged and a full tank of petrol. Took 15 minutes to sign the paperwork, add the vehicle to my Chrysler Uconnect account to activate, and be on my way back home. I am taking it this morning to get the front driver and passenger windows tinted. Had no plans to do this, but if I can upgrade for only $1,218.00 this was a no-brainer. MSRP 52,720.00, 47,960.00 OTD. Selling my 2018 Limited hybrid for 39,242.00. -7,500.00 Federal tax credit next year = 1,218.00 to upgrade.

Nice, now there are 3. I assume the trim/color requirements didn't allow for much of a dealer discount in your case?

I deducted mine from the number I posted. I edited my first post to reflect the number accurately. 😁 Really tired. 😔 Yes, I got discounts. MSRP 52,720.00, 47,960.00 OTD. Selling my 2018 Limited hybrid for 39,242.00. -7,500.00 Federal tax credit next year = 1,218.00 to upgrade.

Did you trade it in or sell it somewhere else?

Private party.
If you can you should add your detailed sales/pricing info to the sale prices thread stop-eject started, would be interesting to see how it compares to other pricing as this inventory shortage drags on.

Welcome to the club! We went through the same thing a couple of weeks ago. We were either going to drive 2 hours away for our preferred Ocean Blue, or three hours for our next choice pearl white.

I think we have unicorns--there won't be too many 2021 Pinnacles registered in the world, or available for sale 5 years from now...

Nice ride! Glad you were able to lock it in. This shortage of new vehicles is only going to get worse in the near-term, IMO.

We, too, got the last one with the options we wanted in the color we wanted within 700 miles of us. Crazy times.
I have concerns not only from the shortage but the coming hyperinflation that has already begun. I thought about waiting for the 2022s but would not be surprised If the prices don't reach the 60,000s or more this fall.

How did you find the sucker who paid you $39k for your old van?
Probably the brother of the guy who paid $9K for my 2007 Odyssey last week.

Not a sucker, the blue book value of my 2018 with 18552 miles in excellent condition is posted below. The vehicle other than the miles on the clock looks 100% like the day I got it 22 months ago. PLUS it has the 8/125,000 Maximum Care warranty being transferred to the new owners. CarMax offered me 33,000.00 for it in writing. Carvana offered 32,800.00 in writing.

Taking into account the tax credit, he would pay less than that for a brand new van.
Some people don't pay enough in taxes for the tax credit to matter. The extended warranty would be more valuable in the long run for those that cant advantage of the credit.

I paid just over $42k (sales price+ doc fee) for a Pinnacle. Even without the tax credit, paying just $3k less for a 3 years old Limited is irrational. However, it is unlikely that someone ready to shell out $40k on a vehicle is unemployed or a working poor. He owes something in taxes. Maybe he can't get the entire $7500, but should still qualify for $3-5k. If I was considering a used PacHy, any price above $30k would be a no.
