Hello - Shopping for our first minivan. The Pacifica we test drove (a Limited) had seating for 7 and captains seats in the second row. I'm now trying to research the variations between the Touring L, L-plus and the Limited and can't seem to find an answer to my 2nd row seating question. If you get seating for 7 in a Touring L or L-Plus, are the seats the same captains seats with arm rests as we saw in the Limited? Do they have arm rests? Do the captains seats stow and go? Can you get captains seats in this model? Please help explain the seat options to me.

Thank you

In a 7 passenger Touring L Plus, the 2nd row captains chairs each have arm rests (left and right side, 2x per chair). Both seats stow and go. Fabric is likely different between limited and L-Plus, but need someone else to confirm that aspect.

I may be wrong but the limited I tested earlier came with perforated leather with heated 2nd row seats versus the L plus which had plain leather and only front seats heated.

Lplus has perf leather and all 4 bucket seats are heated.

As for differences in leather in limited vs l plus, I'm sure at least the color is more premium in the limited, but someone on another thread pointed out that almost all cars are made with bonded leather, so it might just be the piping and fancy colors that differ.

L has regular leather seats.
L+ has regular leather seats with small perforated holes. Also heated.
Limited has nappa leather with larger perforated holes. Also heated.

All trims have captain chairs with arm rests on both sides of all seats unless you go for the 8 passenger, in which case, only outboard sections get an armrest. The 8th seat folds forward to reveal a arm rest area, cubby hole, and two cup holders.

Things like upholstery material and heating are different depending on the trim you go with, but the physical seats themselves are the same in 7 seaters across all trims and stow the same way (except for the hybrid).

Lisa,
My 2 cents...if you don't care about the bells and whistles that the Limited has to offer (vac, sunroofs, nappa leather, premium headlights) Stick with the L+. You wont be disappointed.

Thank you - I think this answers my question but please correct me if I am wrong here. As I understand it, if you get the 8th seat, they take out the interior arm rest on each of the two outer seats in the second row, but except for the removal of the arm rest, the physical seats are the same across all gas models. Makes sense now. I was confused as to whether the allegedly more comfortable captains seats from thy hybrid were offered in any of the gas models and I understand now that the answer is no. My kids were telling me that the seats in the 7 person L-Plus we sat in were wider than those in the 8 person version, but I'm thinking that's more illusion than fact.

Can someone with an 8-seater confirm that the two side seats in the second row do NOT have center arm rests? My salesman said that the 8-seater does have center armrests, and I have not been to the dealership to see for myself. I initially test drove a 7-seater. So confused. Thank you.

Confirmed. They do not have inboard armrests. But the center seat can be folded and used as an armrest (with cup holders).

The 8 passenger doesn't have inner armrests attached to each outboard seat. The middle seat, if installed can be folded down to act as an armrest and cup holder for both outboard seats. However when the middle seat is removed there are no inner armrests for the 2 remaining seats. Hope this answers your question.

Touring L Plus has Mckinley Leather with Axis I Perforation
Limited has Premium Nappa Leather with Axis II Perforation

I am not sure exactly what Mckinley leather either, but Nappa should be softer than the Mckinley overall.

In my point of view, its like Dakota leather, Laguna leather or Nappa leather, its just a name but its process and type is probably what determines its quality and they associate a certain name to that process and type probably.

Personally, I can say that Nappa leather is very good, the saloon of my car is made of this leather and after 4 years of use it has remained in good condition, I think maybe next year I will make some renewals. Lappa leather is also used for furniture, my wife ordered the furniture here Blue Sectionals - Living Room Furniture | NY Furniture Outlets, but I didn't know that they use the same leather. Quality can be seen over the years.
