They're difficult to see in the pics, but we'll give it a shot. They're easy to feel when running your hand across the dash and easy to spot in certain light. The outside edges of the bumps line up with the edges of the UConnect head unit, so I'm assuming that has something to do with it.

And thanks for the heavy Chrysler Cares presence. I've never seen this amount of OEM involvement in any of the other forums I've been in. It's much appreciated!!

Hi everyone,

I grabbed the photos that @BigMamasPaci posted earlier in this thread but if you are experiencing these bumps/bubbles can you post images of what your dash pad looks like?
I'd like to send some examples over to the Brand for further review. Thank you!

Wow...I am so happy to see Chrysler's involvement in addressing this. While I am not happy others are experiencing this, I am glad to know it isnt just me.

My new dash arrived at service dept today and will be going in for replacement on 6/23/17.

Andrea & Chrysler Cares:

Really appreciate you taking an interest in this issue. Attached are dash bump photos from my Touring L Plus built 8/16. Taking photos is tricky but I think you can see the surface shadows from the 3 main bumps. Pressing on the dash pad surface with my fingers, there is some soft give except where the bumps are which are firm like there are underside supports there or something. Hopefully the product team can work with the dash supplier to correct this defect in future model years & develop a TSB for fixing those of us with bumpy dashes.

UPDATE:

Service dept got my new dash in a week and a half ago, they just opened the box to work on it yesterday and low and behold it has the EXACT same bumps. Service guy said he is calling the "powers that be" to determine if they are supposed to be like this or if there is a color issue (like happens only with the dark dash or something). Which obvi they are not bc he told me half the Pacificas on their lot are fine and half have the bumps. He hasnt torn my dash apart yet bc he doesn't want to make an unnecessary rattle if all the new dashes all have bumps too. I have been w/o my car since Friday evening (it's Tuesday now) luckily they gave me a loaner car but I'm very frustrated for something that should have been noticed a long time ago with all these issues. He did make it sound like he would try to get a dash in that didn't have the bumps, but the question is do those exist in the correct color for me? I'm supposed to have a call back from him today so I will update again later.

I have the 3 bumps too. Definitely feels like something is pushing on the back side and causing it.

Keep us posted on how the dash replacement goes. I'm on the fence as to whether or not it's worth getting changed out.

Hi BigMamasPaci,

Sorry to hear about this! Can you PM our page with your VIN and dealership's name? I'd like to look into this further for you.

UPDATE 2:

I'm picking my Pacifica up today with no change in the dash. They are still waiting to hear from engineering why they look like this and if I/we owners have to just deal with this or what solutions may be available. The "new" dash they received to swap has worse bumps they said than the condition mine is in, so they didnt do anything to mine since there would be no improvement. Very frustrating.

Thank you Andrea. I will send you my information.

Vereeke: Please try and get some photos of your dash bumps and attach them in this thread for Chrysler Cares who has asked us to post them. Thanks!

I have a hellcat and now a Chrysler Pacifica, I have the same exact bumps.. also have fish eyes in my paint.. look these things are mass produced, good styling and performance is what you get.. manufacturing defects are rampant in these products.. like previous posts.. didn't let the dealer tear you're dash apart man.. telling you it will rattle to hi heaven once done.. once you take something apart its never the same.. my hellcat had all kinds of flaws and dodge was willing to fix em, but I said no way.. collateral damage is inevitable.. man wish it was different.. but the Americans still need work at refinement. they got horse power down thats for sure..

I agree, I'm a really fussy person and it would bother me if I had them, but I wouldn't let them tear apart my dash to fix those bumps that are barely noticeable. I would probably have the dealership document it while it's in for service and only do something about it if it got worse...

I keep seeing replies where individuals think that it's something "poking-up" from under the dash.

While plausible without other information, the fact that BigMamasPaci has noted that her REPLACEMENT dash had arrived at the dealership with those humps/bulges before they even installed it says to me there is a manufacturing/assembling defect of the dash that seems to merely give the illusion of something underneath (like the radio) poking-up.

My condolences to those who have this issue - it would bug me COMPLETELY. Thankfully, I do NOT have this issue. Hopefully they figure-out why this is happening.

I was one who thought it might be something poking up, just because I am ignorant to how cars are built. It does make me happy that the service department at my dealership is looking into it. They seemed pretty shocked that At least half on the lot had same problem. When I went to pick up, they had another one from their lot in to take pictures because they said it was the worst they had.

I am nervous to have there be a rattle but had to mention it in case there were other related issues later.

Could it be push in clips to hold the dash in place that did not seat properly?
That seems plausible. If BigMama's dealership still has the new dash with the bumps, it'd be nice if they could take pics of the underside to see if there are clips in these spots (wishful thinking).

The Touring L I have on loaner has those bumps.

I think it would be better if Chrysler would advertise the Pacifica's feature list as ... "dash poking goose bumps for free..." with every new Pacifica. Then we won't have this problem anymore.

Looks like a manufacturing defect from the supplier. Hope FCA holds them accountable.

So how is the dash cover held in place?
