Air flow restricted by HEPA cabin air filter?

I recently replaced my factory 2023 phev original cabin air filter with hepa filter by Pure Flow from amazon. I immediately noticed a reduction in fan air flow, maybe up to 50% at highest speed. I actually don't mind the air flow difference because it is easier to fine-tune but I'm concerned Maybe the Hepa filter could put a strain on the blower fan system.

Has anyone else run into this situation and did it create a problem?

Just to make sure.. you faced it the right direction right? The last time I replaced our filters they were supposed to be some sort of hepa but I didn't notice any reductions in performance.

The more filtration, the more restriction. HEPA would be categorized as relatively more restrictive.
