I saw that the analog speedometer and tachometer on my Pacifica wasn't working while I was on road. Interestingly, the digital display between the two showed the accurate speed. I took it to the dealer and had my engine running to show what I had observed. 20 mins later the technician comes back and says that he ran some tests and everything looks fine. He did not had any plausible answer for the observation, but said in case this happens again I need to bring the van for replacement of instrument cluster. The instrument cluster will be sent from Chrysler with pre-programmed mileage as on my vehicle. See image attached, wondering if anyone had similar observation and the offered answer/resolution.

Probably happened because you were driving upside down.

Had seen this problem once before, had the instrument cluster display update about every 4 seconds. The settings, vehicle information, gas mileage would delay about 5 seconds when you use the up/down arrows. The redraw of the screen was sluggish at best. The car has been off for 4 hours and now it seems to be updating in real time. Any ideas ......... Chrysler Cares are you there? The electrical problems are Legendary (3) HID units, on the 3rd radio, now the LCD in the dashboard has a quarter sized black spot in the top center of the screen. We love the van but we are wondering if we can trust it. Thank the Lord the dealer service department is nice (and we didn't even buy it there).

Yes, we are on liniment terms with them right now. I will have to put them on my Christmas card list.
I talked to him this am, as we just picked up the van from our latest HID issue, sliding passenger door issue et al. He said, we didn't do anything that would affect that.
I told him I understood, was not angry. Just told him to remind me about it when they get the parts in for the 8.4NAV screen to fix that issue.

I know this is an old thread, but...
My analogue gauges stopped working one day last year. When I restarted the car, they were back in proper operation, so I chalked it up as a computer glitch. Yesterday they just stopped again, and restarting the car didn't fix it, so I took a pic of the digital speedo showing the speed while both analog gauges were dead. Glad I did, cuz today everything is working again. I'm past 2 years of the factory warranty and I've never been tempted by any other car's extended warranty, but I'm seriously considering one for this car. Dealer has been good, always providing a loaner, but I've been in their oaners for several weeks in the past 2 years; it does not augur well...

The factory warranty should be 3 years/36,000 miles, so unless you have more than 36,000 miles, you may still be able to have the dealer check out the problem.

In a Grand Caravan we had, when the analog speedometer quit working the fix was to replace the battery. Seemed a bit crazy at the time, but it solved the problem. Ask the dealer to check the battery while you are there. My Pacifica van's battery was replaced at 28 months under warranty.

Thanks, SciTchr - yes, I'm still under the factory warranty, and I'm getting to know my dealer's service dept. pretty well. <G> Actually, they just replaced both batteries within the past 2 months; they seemed fine to me, but the monthly status report from FCA said they weren't heathy. The dealer confirmed that and replaced them both under warranty. And yes, that does seem crazy, but so much seems crazy these days I'm seldom surprised. It goes back to the dealer Wednesday and we'll see what they cover. Thanks again.
