Can someone else with auto-dimming side mirrors check their driver side mirror and tell me if there is like a line around the whole mirror about a quarter inch from the edge? The first time i drove at night and mirror auto-dimmed i noticed that between this line and the edge of the mirror it didnt auto-dim. Its kind of distracting when you just glace at the mirror. I'll try to get a picture to show this line that im talking about.

i'll be interested to see if yours acts the same as mine. If it does i have no idea why they would have made the mirrors that way.
Mine is exactly the same. I assume it's by design, though I can't say why it was designed that way.

It's normal. There are some car manufacturers that purchase these glass with less of an edge or completely edgeless. Ours happen to have edges/bezel. Within the edges is where the electro-chromatic technology is sandwiched in. I would argue that helps protect the sandwiched layers of technology between clear glass and mirror. With edgeless any tampering with the edge of the mirror can potentially affect the technology and the glass itself.

But ultimately I'm not an expert in this realm so I'm only speaking based on what I know of comparable tech concepts such as Plasma TVs in terms of panel sensitivity to impact. Remember, there's no housing on the mirror itself to protect it. Just the large casing that houses the mechanics.

Actually, my mistake on the side mirrors with edgeless. they all have edges for the purposes of what i mentioned which is holding the layers together. It's the rearview mirror that has edgeless dimming options because the housing overlaps the edge portions of the mirror with the edge portions holding the layers together.

They will all do the same. It isn't unique to just one vehicle's auto-dimming side mirrors. As previously mentioned, it's what holds the layers of technology inside the mirror to do what it does for auto-dimming. If the edges bother you then the only resolution is to not turn on the dimming feature. The Chrysler's edge around the dimmed portion is no different than other cars with auto-dimming features for the side mirror.

I have a Touring L Plus and don't see that my side mirrors auto dim. Guess this is a limited only feature?
I have the Limited model, and haven't noticed super bright glare from the side or rear view mirrors during normal night time driving. I recently had to use the dimmer on the rear view mirror (pushing the middle button). I noticed only the rear view mirror and driver side dimmed. The passenger side mirror didn't dim, nor does it have the edges like the driver side.

My neighbor just ordered a Touring L Plus and she looked at one at the dealer and it has that edges on the drivers side mirror like my Limited, so I assume the Touring L Plus does.

Why would you assume that? The Touring L Plus is a higher trim level than the Touring L.

I edited that, I meant The touring L Plus.

Wow, I just saw that as well........I assumed that the Touring L-Plus had it as it has that edging around the mirror, I guess that has to do with the heated mirror. On the brochure it only lists the Limited as:
— Chrome, power folding, power, heated, auto-dimming driverside, courtesy lamps, turn indicator, auto-adjust-in-Reverse
