Battery/hybrid warranty what's covered

I'm confused what the 10 year 100,000 mile Battery/hybrid warranty covers. Is it just the battery? If it covers hybrid, does that include the transmission where the motors are and what about other parts like inverter or?

Directly from my 2021 warranty card:

• Auxiliary Hybrid Control Processor (AHCP) • Catalytic Converter • DC to DC Converter • Electric Brake Booster Control Module • Fuel Pump Module • Hybrid Control Processor (HCP) • Inverter Assembly • On-Board Charging Module • Power Pack Unit – Battery Pack Control Module • Powertrain Control Module (PCM) • Steel Fuel Tank Assembly • Transmission Control Module (TCM)

Transmission seems to be covered under powertrain for 5 years, but I'm sure depending on the issue, it might get covered.

Pretty much any component that touches the 400v wires is going to be covered, and any additional parts that are directly required for said system to function.

Sort of.

It gets a little iffy at the interface between the Electric system and the engine.

IIRC someone on here had a service hybrid system alert, and the error was some sensor between the hybrid system and the engine, but it was declared to fall under the powertrain warranty which was expired, so they had to pay $450 for it.


Mostly why I just spent the $1600 for the full 8/100k MOPAR warranty just to make sure everything is covered. I'll get rid of the vehicle after 8 years. Given the discounts I got, that'll be $4k / year for a working vehicle not including whatever the vehicle is worth at resale.

Hi @jnads Saw your post above. Just got our Hybrid pacifica, but did not buy the extended warranty, not yet. How does one shop around, and I'm guessing that their would be fewer problems with a MOPAR warranty, correct?

The two popular ones are Ziegler at ChryslerFactoryPlans.com and Hayes Jeep (google it). Ziegler is easier since you buy online and there's always been the coupon PAYINFULL that takes money off. Warranty is legit, it will show up in your Mopar.com account for your VIN. Hayes Jeep if you call them I think they'll beat Ziegler's price by $100.

MOPAR warranty is sold by Chrysler/Stellantis, so yes in theory there is fewer problems since you're not dealing with a middle party. You deal with the dealer and the dealer deals with MOPAR.

Do yourself a favor and go pull a quote from Ziegler RIGHT NOW (if you think you might buy it at all). Enter your information (and the coupon) and have them e-mail it to you. It does something in the Chrysler system and Ziegler honors the quoted price for 90 days even if Chrysler raises the price of the extended warranty (Chrysler does warranty price increases at certain times of the year). You'll have that many days to make a decision. Ziegler is good about not hounding you. They'll send you a PDF with the contract no obligation. I think when I bought mine I had a quote saved and bought through that even though Chrysler had raised the price $75. After 90 days make if you still need more time to decide do another instant quote and see if it changed. If it hasn't make a new e-mail quote.

Just do know if you go beyond 1 year or 12,000 miles on the vehicle the price goes up. It goes up when you enter year/mileage (you can test this yourself).


As far as whether it's worth it or not, can't say until I hit the 100k miles.

I don't even know what the price is anymore. When I bought back in 2021, the $200 deductible 8/100k maxcare was $1650 after coupon. Made it 5% of the vehicle cost (2% of current vehicle cost). Easier to stomach that.

It looks like a generic list of parts, it doesn't fully match Pacifica. BPCM is a part of the HV battery, it is not replaceable by itself. HCP, Inverter and TCM are functional components of PIM. Someone wrote that the battery heater was also covered, but it is not in the list.

Yeah, always somewhat of a mystery with the extended warranties. I had bought a warranty on our Honda Odyssey from the dealer. I didn't realize that it was some sort of third party group. I had an issue, took it to a dealer who charged me something like $79 to diagnose to see if they would cover the issue. I can't actually recall what it was, but super pissed me off.
