Best vehicle I've ever owned?

I was really leary about buying this vehicle used, given all the issues I read on these forums beforehand.
It looks like I was able to get a good used one that wasn't a lemon. I replaced the 3-way valve myself when I bought it, knowing the code the van was presenting was because of this.
Since that time, last winter I was getting intermittent codes related to the battery system which would disappear on their own or with an ODB reset. I'm still not sure what these codes would refer to.
I finished a roughly 3,000 km trip averaging 6.8 L/100 km. This is with 4 adults and 3 children. I think that is really remarkable! For some of trips at stop points along the trip, I plugged it in, so maybe 200 km of that was directly on battery.
So yeah I think the software and error-reporting on the van needs some work but to drive so cheaply and with so much space has been such a blessing. I was able to tilt the 3rd row seats back and sleep almost stretched out when I wasn't the driver. I could work on my laptop sitting on the 3rd row seat while driving with a make-shift platform for the laptop, and my kids loved watching the fold-up screens with Youtube videos I downloaded so the long drives were tolerable for them. Pretty amazing vehicle. I've used so little gas since I've owned it!

I love mine, too. Most flexible and comfortable vehicle I've owned. I can take 2 other adult couples with wife & I and nobody gets a penalty seat with no leg room, or has to be an acrobat to get to a seat, as in most SUVs.

If there wasn't the reliability factor I would say this van is literally the best vehicle I ever owned. The only one that comes close is my mitsubishi EVO X GSR which wasn't "calm" or "relaxing" but god you could just go ham with it. This van though rides so smooth, but has good power/acceleration, and just a lot of really nice bells and whistles. Just sad you gotta worry about things(I have the hybrid and had main lithium battery fail, coolant pump, control arms, radio, rear VRM, driver strut, and freon replaced). If I could just trust it then it would be fantastic.

I think the vans are actually quite trustable in general. But the problem still remains, when something does go wrong, there is very little confidence in a quick and reliable fix based on all I've read. And it seems mostly that the dealerships service departments are inadequately trained for work on the electrical system and transmission of this van. I and others have said a few different times, it's almost as if a back up is needed so that when a fix takes place one is aware it could be a month or more before the van is fully back up and running at 100%. They need to designate one dealership in every major metro area that SPECIALIZES in repairing this van. As in their techs do 80% or more of their work just on these.
