If this has already been covered, please accept my apologies in advance. We stopped in at a local dealer today to look at colors on the Pacifica. We really want the diesel seats and will likely have to place an order to get the right color combo. We saw 3 gas Pacificas with the diesel interior. Here is what did not make any sense, all three of them had black/alloy on the window sticker. Of course, the other Pacificas with the alloy seats also said black/alloy. What am I missing? Is there something else on the sticker that denotes alloy seats vs. diesel seats?

Thanks

The black/alloy is referring to the interior colors, black dash alloy upper side panels.

You have to look at the order info which will tell you the seat colors.

The window sticker doesn't indicate the seat colors as far as I can tell.

Thanks for the quick replies. I must be losing my mind, then. I swear I pulled up a window sticker 2 weeks ago that showed the diesel in that section. I even went to this same dealer hoping to lay eyes on it, but alas, it was nowhere to be found. It was a hybrid that appeared to have the diesel interior (or so I somehow gleaned). Now I am wondering what I saw! I have never heard of a window sticker not reflecting the interior color. In this case, the dash and trim only comes in one color, so why would that even make the window sticker? So frustrating.

My M.O. for buying in stock has historically been to find the vehicle I want in inventory and show up at the dealer to buy. I have, many moons ago, even had sales guys tell me that they don't have a vehicle and when i quote the VIN they say, "I'll be darned, there it is". Now, with that said, the Chrysler inventory seems to be a joke. We all have seen sold units appear in dealer inventory AND I have have dealers contact me saying that they have units that are NOT showing on the Chrysler site. So, that said, I may be fighting a losing battle given that we want the uncommon interior color.

I just went through the process of picking up a Pacifica Limited and "Diesel" was the only color that I wanted for the interior. The interior color search option wasn't working properly on the Chrysler website, so I would look at the pictures (illustrations) that showed up in the search for a "Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat Exterior Paint" with the options that I wanted. If you look closely at the pictures that show up in the search, you can see the interior color. I would then click on "View on Dealer Site" and then look at the actual pictures of the vehicle (if they had actual photos in the listing lol) and click on the "Window sticker" link. In every case, including the one I ended up getting, I was seeing "Black / Diesel Interior Colors" Here is what my window sticker looks like at the top:

CHRYSLER PACIFICA LIMITED
Exterior Color: Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat Exterior Paint
Interior Color: Black / Diesel Interior Colors
Interior: Premium Nappa Leather-Trimmed Bucket Seats
Engine: 3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine with ESS
Transmission: 9-Speed FWD Automatic Transmission

So frustrating. I am glad you found one and it sounds like the sticker showed what I was expecting. I was opening every window sticker and looking. The challenge is that there is much less inventory in hybrids and as others have stated, many of those are not really there. They are often sold units. I had a very responsive sales manager working with me at a small local dealer. They received a unit early in the initial shipments that was not a pre-sold order. But, it took several exchanges with her to even get her to clarify that it did not have the sunroof. I figured out it from the Chrysler site before she answered me. THEN, she told me it was sold over a week ago but it is still showing in stock on the Chrysler site. Really guys? Is this that difficult? And I am considering buying a vehicle with brand new untested technology? They can't maintain a website.

I'm not sure what color exterior you are looking for, but you might have to expand your search area a little to find what you want... I didn't want to special order my Pacifica Limited, so I ended up in VA, 385 miles from my home to get the colors, options and price that I wanted lol. I'm not sure if you were already aware of these or not, but I see (4) Pacifica Hybrid Platinums with the Diesel Interior you are looking for not too far from you. All (4) Pacificas list "Black / Diesel Interior Colors" on the dealer website and window sticker. (2) are at Safford Chrysler, (1) at Fitzgerald Auto Mall and (1) at Lustine Chrysler. The one at Lustine is Granite Chrystal exterior and is advertising the best price with a "Dealer Discount" of $3092.00. Hope this helps...

Please keep in mind this section is for Pacifica Hybrids. There are other sections for Pacifica Gas models.

Tiz,
Sorry if I wasn't clear. I am only considering a hybrid. We wanted to expand our color choices so we were looking at colors on gas models. That said, I would have assumed that Chrysler would have interior color information follow the same logic on a hybrid or gas model.

Sorry. I now understand. However interior choices on the Hybrid were at first limited to alloy only on the Platinum Edition. I understand that later on black seats were offered. I also believe that orders for Hybrids both Platinum and Premium are currently suspended, but not certain on that. The hybrid is a very different and unique animal and comparing interior colors and options available on the gas models does not translate to the Hybrid. My hybrid is red with alloy interior and I am very pleased with the color combination. I ordered my Hybrid on 20Dec16.

LOL are you kidding? The title of this thread was "Bogus Sticker Info" and I was specifically trying to help the original poster sort out inconsistencies with regard to interior colors and how they are displayed (or not) on window stickers. If you would have read the posts you would have seen that.

To be perfectly honest, my wife wanted the red with the brown interior! :grin2:

Knowing that you can't even get that combination, if we were to place an order, I am not even sure what we would order. We almost ordered 2 months ago. We are still really struggling with the options that they chose to exclude on the Platinum. But, I want to be ready to make an impulse purchase if something goes south on our '09 T&C or if we get the itch. I looked at the one at Lustine and noticed that it does not have the sunroof. My wife really likes the sunroof (only feature we don't have on our Limited T&C) and I want her to have it in exchange for things she is giving up (specifically the memory seats and adjustable pedals). She is also tired of the light gray interior in our T&C and the black seats would be a nice change to better justify having car payments again.

Thanks for doing the searches. I just pulled up the one on Fitzgerald site and it shows "on order". These guys are all playing games on these vans. I am not sure I have the bug enough to want to be shopping in a sellers market.

The problem is, I do have the bug! It is a huge internal battle. With the sunroof and black interior, I think that the Molten Silver, Granite Crystal, Silver Teal (LOL), and Velvet Red Pearl would all be worth going to see in person and driving. At that point, it would come down to an emotional purchase. I have done the homework, I know I want this van, but I don't need it right now.

I want the molten silver with brown interior. The black apparently shows all the dirt kids bring. Hopefully brown is an option for 2018s. People with 8' garage doors are upset the mirrors don't fold in automatically too but I would think yours is the same width.

LOL I know the feeling of having that bug I was obsessed! And you are right, it's a seller's market right now with the Hybrids because they are so new, relatively scarce and in high demand.

I don't blame you on the sunroof either, they are done very nicely on the Pacifica and add a pleasant ambiance no matter where you are seated. As far as color, they ALL look nice when you don't have one :wink2: but for me, I like the classic stateliness of the black with the diesel interior. My girlfriend didn't care so luckily I had no static there...

I agree with you for taking your time, because the deals and choices will probably get better down the road... But, I also know (from personal experience) how difficult it can be to delay gratification lol. Maybe ask Lustine Chrysler if they would give you the same discount on a special order, plus any additional factory rebates/incentives and the Sam's Club discount?

I have much closer dealers that claim they are ready to sharpen their pencils if I want to order. But, now I am hearing stories that orders are halted for now. Not to mention, I can't imagine that we are too far out from 2018 orders. On top of that, the state is renewing their sales tax rebate effective 1 July, so waiting to take delivery on 1 July would save me about $1600. I really think that getting behind the wheel is the key. We both really detest the whole dealership process. I would prefer to buy without dealing with the process. If the terms were right, I would be inclined to order or DX without even driving just to short cut the deal. But, right now, those terms include things that aren't available now.

I am really enjoying hearing about all of your vans, learning more about the pros and cons of these new babies, and getting even smarter about them. Historically, I go into the dealership far more knowledgeable on the vehicle than the salesperson who writes up the deal (that I have already come up with).

I am still struggling with poor information on vehicles sitting on dealers lots. Many of them in my area are listed as having black seats but do not. The stickers don't show the black seats, they all say black/alloy. The vehicles say black seats. Here is an example that I mentioned in my original post. This vehicle is sitting on a nearby lot. Clearly has black leather seats.

2017 Chrysler Pacifica Touring-L For Sale | Frederick MD .

Take a peak at the window sticker.

https://www.chrysler.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=2C4RC1BG6HR743598

What am I missing? Is it on the sticker somewhere? This dealer had several vans like this. Ironically, only a few have pictures on their website. But, I was there in person and saw the stickers and the seats. What gives?

This is the way that I recall it being since day 1. Black/alloy means black seats. Black/alloy plus a line under the optional equipment for "Alloy Seats" means alloy seats.

When we ordered, I told the dealer to NOT choose the Alloy seat option as we wanted black seats.

Here is an example from the same dealer with "Alloy Seats" under optional equipment.

https://www.chrysler.com/hostd/windowsticker/getWindowStickerPdf.do?vin=2C4RC1CG7HR638373

Long story short, Black/alloy is the color of the interior excluding the seats (dash, side panels, carpet, etc.). Past that, black seats are standard and not mentioned elsewhere, and alloy seats are an option.

This is helpful but I suspect is exactly the opposite on the hybrid. Alloy is definitely the default seat color on a Hybrid Platinum. I have yet to put my eyes on a hybrid window sticker that has the seat option at the bottom. I have seen some stickers that say black/diesel but it is in the location that you mention is referring to the dash, side panels, carpet, etc. So, now I am wondering what the inside of these vans look like. Since the nearest one I see like that is over 50 miles away, I will be inquiring with the dealer to see if they will send me some photos.
