Hi. I came across this forum as I was searching why my Pacifica goes into auto-stop. I read several post about bubbled paint on the hood at the edge.
My hood bubbled up too. It is all along the very edge of the hood. I have been trying to save up money to get the hood fixed.
What is the time frame (years) of being able to get help from Chrysler with fixing the hood please? I had no idea they would help with this problem.

You didn't say what year it is, but you need to go to your local dealer (anyways) and have them write it up & they will take pictures and open a case with Chrysler and then they will determine if it's covered or not.

I don’t know your particular vehicle In service date , but 17 model year started the last quarter of 2016

I should have put it’s a 2017 white Pacifica.

I appreciate you taking the time to show me that information. A Chrysler customer care specialist contacted me. I am taking the Pacifica into a local Chrysler dealer today to get pictures done to submit a claim. Thank you again.

Good luck, hopefully they support you as a customer and cover the repairs. Knowing about this issue, I wash my van regularly and apply extra wax to the hood and painted front end to try and keep this at bay. Not sure it will work but can't hurt.

It’s the process at the factory that was the issue . Some were good and some had issues , roll of the dice really . Think about a hood deflector for the long term , if your planning on keeping the vehicle for long term.

A little sooner than that. Mine was built in May of 2016. There were significant changes mid model year starting around the end of the 3rd quarter 2016. Notably, crash rating was improved and ESS was added.

While that is taking good care of the vehicle (and the paint)...the bubbling happens underneath all that, so you really can't prevent it per se

I have a 2017 with the same problem. How did you get a customer care specialist to contact you?

You book a service appointment at dealership , get them to open a case on it , take pics , and then submit it to corp for the appropriate serviceable action .
