Bubbling paint defect

It would appear that this is a well know paint defect. I have a 2017 that has Bubbling paint defect on the edge of the hood. I have not ever seen this. Is everyone getting their defects repaired by Chrysler?

I've got about 2 months remaining on my factory warranty, and I just noticed the paint bubbling on my drivers side slider today. What the heck? Fingers crossed Chrysler stands by their warranty.

Hi Alex - I have this defect on my hood and my sliding door (2018 Pacifica). I took it to a dealer and they acted like it was my problem. Can you provide a number I can call to have this corrected?

If your within 5 years and under 60,000 miles this repair should be covered under warranty. Chrysler is aware of the problem I had this fixed on mine here is the bulletin print it out and bring it with you.

Thank you!!
Hey everyone! I have visited with the dealer and my mileage is over the bumper to bumper warranty with almost 50K miles. The corrosion warranty is around 80K miles and depending on the vehicle, some are lifetime. I will be getting mine repaired and a loaner vehicle will be provided.
Do you have any documentation that supports this? I have to build my case to the dealer and it would be nice to have this info.

I can confirm they do cover corrosion on the hood.

Thanks so very much! That's exactly what I needed. The warranty info.

Yes, according to that outer panels a covered for 5 years and 100,000 miles. I actually Han mine fixed just before the 3 year 36,000 mile coverage ended. Judging from this form it it one of the most common problems there is.
Just wanted to drop in and say my hood is bubbling again after the first authorized repair. Dealership is taking care of me even with 131K miles on it... no questions asked.
I know this is an old thred but Im about to purchase a 2016 Town and Country that seems to be having this paint issue. I was told its out of warranty. Any ideas how i can get this fixed? New car to me but its a Ford dealership Im buying it from so they are throwing their hands up in the air. Told me to call Chysler. I did, but because the car has 80,000 miles on it its outta warranty. WTH?!?

2 options. 1. New hood and paint. 2. Follow this collision repair bulletin. (Bubbling may return).

Yes, It is a warranty issue. Dealer should honor 100% Be sure you go over the whole car where stainless steel is used. Doors and hood I think. I have the minivan and repaired front hood and both rear sliding doors. Look or feel at the very bottom of door underneath where the rubber is.
I have a 2017 Limited Chrysler Pacifica in Ontario. It appears the Hood paint is doing the "well known" issue or paint bubbling at the edges of the hood booth top and bottom. Corrosion warranty expired July 2021. Why has this issue not been a recall is beyond me as this seems to be a problem with all aluminum panels on FCA vehicles. Dealer said "out of warranty call Chysler" Has anyone had any luck getting this known issue repaired out of warranty periods.

Recalls are for safety concerns. Corrosion is not likely to harm you.
