Is there a way to tell what date and what build sequence or your Pacifica? In some of the older cars I've had that information is usually in the VIN but, I'm not sure how to decode it? Also, is there a broadcast sheet for the car that shows all the options that were put on the car as it goes down the assembly line?

Thanks,
Ed

I got a build sheet, but "VIN unavailable" for window sticker link. I'm VIN 2C4RC1N71HR695570, a Hybrid Plat ordered in Jan, supposed to be shipped 2/16 according to the dealer...

Where do the codes mentioned from the Challenger forum appear? Is that on the end of the build sheet or something? I can't find any that correspond. Will also try the 800 # I guess.

Thank you!

Build code status can be obtained by contacting Chrysler at the 800 number, through Chrysler online chat, from your dealer or even by Chrysler Cares here on this forum.

For example, I just stopped at my dealer this past Saturday and he told me my Hybrid is "JS" which means it is built and has been shipped to storage.

All built Hybrids are in storage hold currently. If you can see your build sheet your van is either in the process of being built or is completed.

If you are a USA customer, the window sticker will not show up until the vehicle is status code "KZ", invoiced to the dealer, leaves the factory and is in transit.

The latest information from Chrysler is that shipping on all built hybrids will commence the beginning of April.

Here are the codes:

Chrysler Order Status Codes
BA: New order that hasn't been checked
BB: Review by fleet department
BD: Special equipment processing
BE: Edit error
BG: Passed edit n/a for schedule
BGL: Edit ok parts unavailable
BX: Passed edit available for schedule
C: Sub firm - Tentative schedule
D: Firm schedule - dealer has allocation and all parts available
D1: Gateline schedule - scheduled to be built
E: Frame
F: Paint
G: Trim
I: Built not ok'd
J: Built ok'd
JB: Shipped to Upfit Center (for Stripe)
JE: Emission check
JS: Shipped to storage
KZ: Released by plant , invoiced
KZL: Released - not shipped
KZM: First rail departure
KZN: First rail arrival
KZO: Delayed/received
KZOA: Plant holds
KZOB: Zone/distribution holds
KZOC: Carrier delays
KZOD: Carrier holds
KZOE: Mis-shipped vehicle
KZOF: Show/test vehicle
KZOG: Damaged vehicle
KZOH: All other reasons
KZT: Second rail departure
KZU: Second rail arrival
KZX: Delivered to dealer
ZA: Canceled

Thanks so much for this wealth of info. I called FCA yesterday but didn't have much luck w/ the rep I happened to get. Based on your live chat suggestion, I just found that and it worked great. I can't include links in posts yet but if anyone googles "chrysler live chat" it's the 1st link I see.

Here's what I literally just heard from chat:
-------------------
Sandra: Our information is showing that you new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid is at the stage prior to being released by the plant. Vehicle may have been selected for additional quality inspections or held for delivery purposes. At FCA, you can be assured that we take vehicle quality seriously. If being shipped via railcar, vehicles maybe held until there is enough units to fill the shipping requirement. There is no ETA at this time Micah.
Sandra: JS is the code Micah.

That's "shipped to storage," same as yours. If what the rep above says is accurate, could be waiting to fill a train -- but seems more likely a quality issue they're trying to sort out per the thread titled Production delay in hybrid. :(

We ordered Silver Teal, how about you? Just to triangulate more of the delay theories in that production delay thread.

Thanks again.

You're welcome, I'm glad to share what I have gathered through being a member in the forum since I ordered in December.

I ordered Jazz Blue, I went to see it in a Limited with the Alloy and really liked it. It will be a refreshing change from my all black inside and out 2014 Durango we are replacing. I love the Durango but the family has outgrown it.

I have read many theories about why the Hybrid has been delayed and I believe it is a combination of things. First, I think it was pushed back by the Windsor factory shutting down an extra week during the holidays due to an overstock of gas models. Chrysler also clearly has had a problem with the 18" wheels, either a rim or tire shortage probably, but they compensated for the issue by switching to the 17" wheels from the Premium model so I don't think this has caused the delay.

There is a member named "Anothertk" in California who happened to be able to buy one at the beginning of January. I have spoken with him on facebook in the Pacifica group there about his ownership experience so far. He told me that in the first month of ownership that Chrysler sent a team from Detroit to do a software update and to swap out his battery. He says all is fine now and everything is now perfect. This is what he told me: "I think they wanted to fix some issue and service department training before mass release. They contacted me for a software update and battery change for me in the first month and they had to send a team from Detroit to do it because no one in my area had training about pacifica hybrid, but don't worry nothing major happened. Yeah. Just a little bit glitch on the software side, everything else runs perfect." Ray is very willing to talk about his Hybrid and I am thankful he took the time to share his experiences.

I also believe that Chrysler has a launch plan in place and that is why they are holding them until April. After reading here Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Dealer Forum and Arrival Date Information that most "dealer orders" not sold customer orders but dealer stock orders, that are shipping first are the Silver Teal I believe that Chrysler wants to fill dealer showrooms with the color Hybrid they have shown the most in their advertising and promotional materials since Silver Teal is unique to the Hybrid. If you see a Silver Teal Pacifica, you know it is the Hybrid and it is an eyecatcher.

Finally, I think that it has been a perfect storm of reasons for the delay. 1. Extra factory shutdown 2. Perhaps a glitch that needed fixing, on top of dealerships that need to be brought up to speed to service these vehicles when something else pops up. 3. Chrysler's plan to "launch" the vehicle, with a big advertising campaign and having Hybrids arriving at all eligible dealers around the same time.

I think Chrysler could have done a much better job communicating the wait to those of us with orders, and bringing the dealers up to speed on the situation so that the proper information could get out there. They also should have told dealers to tell those ordering that there was no timeframe and order "at your own risk" timewise. Ultimately we are early adopters and there is always risk ordering something that hasn't hit the market yet. I'm lucky that I have other other options to drive while I wait for my van so this delay hasn't impacted me at all. I feel for others that have leases ending or cars dying that needed their new Hybrids yesterday, but that's always the risk when ordering and not buying off the lot.

I hope the wait is almost over!

I called today to get an update on my order. Yesterday I was told it was "being painted." Today I was told this:

I asked her what the letter code/status is for my van, and she wouldn't tell me. They said they cannot tell me "for security reasons." What???

She just reiterated that it is at the stage prior to being released by the plant.

Wierd. I told her other people were told the letter code/status on their orders, and asked why I couldn't get mine. Security reasons, she repeated.

Anyone else not given info due to "security reasons?"

I only got reliable letter code status info from my dealer. My salesman would text me a picture of his screen showing everything. I had mixed luck with calling Chrysler.

It could be she was told not to give customer information over the phone without being able to verify who is actually calling? I'd expect a bit of privacy myself. That request in person may have worked, no problem.

Recently I gave a print out of the options and warranty service history to a guy who, possibly, found how just how fast a Ram 3500 can go with the rev-limit. I can't remember but it was around 175 km/h. Maybe a bit more. But to figure that out before 5000km is on the odom? My 2003 Neon cut out at 120 mph. I needed a REALLY LONG HILL to learn that. I was so stupid. But now I wonder about the 9 speed auto.... going to get in trouble :D Rev limit, speed limit, or engine cut-out? I don't know what would happen.

Anyways, about the print out. He used it later in arguments with FCA showing just how much he had visited and what a piece of turd it is and they need to buy it back. He is approved for a Employee Price regardless of what or when he buys next. The truck has been working pretty good for him since he got that promise.

But he loves it still. I know he doesn't want to say it out loud but I told him this truck might not fit his needs. Single driver with empty loads, works long distance from home. The HD transmission that is rough but strong. So it's a fuel thirsty, hard riding, pricy payment headache for him currently. I did my due diligence. His place of employment is across the street from my house. EMS.

He is vigilant to all vibrations and noises, so has visited more than he has needed to.

The Service Manager did the same thing handing out those sheets too, not thinking too much about it. Then he got a call from FCA.... They clamped down on us for that 'private' information. He was nice to me but we had to have a change in our policy regarding the history of warranty and the factory option list.

So if it warrants having the printout in hand, cut off the top of the paper. Remove the dealer name. We were 'caught', I suppose. Private information. CHRYSLERS private information... Dealer has no real reason to care, unless they are caught in a lie about options or delivery information. When there is a delay with the status even the dealership gets canned responses from FCA.

I delivered a Challenger SRT8. All fancy in sleeper orange with no stripes. Was at the 'repair location'. "Oh, you know. It might need a new battery. Or something wrong with the paint." The back end looked funny. Then later it was in for a short on the heated steering wheel. Once disassembled it looked like the airbag went off, then was repacked. A wire folded out of a little channel made for it. Pinched so no heated wheel. With the back end funny, and an airbag used.... I think it got rear-ended on the train or some ramp. Then they would never admit that it happened. "Maybe the battery was bad..." Oh yea! Makes sense that it was there for weeks!
