Within the next 2 weeks we will probably finalize our deal for a Limited, replacing my Jetta TDI. Before we do, I'd like to know if anyone has purchased the Pacifica, and now has 2nd thoughts, or regrets?

Absolutely no regrets so far. Have only had our Limited for about 6 weeks (October build) and have had no issues yet that required a visit to the dealer. We are still learning all the technology this vehicle has. By far the best van we've ever owned.

We LOVE ours, and we mostly drive higher priced luxury vehicles (BMW, Audi, etc.) and tend to have high expectations. Look, it's not a perfect product, but it is incredibly ambitious in terms of feature set, and it is generally very well executed and thought out. Smart design, and good assembly quality as far as we can see.

No remorse here.

I've had my Limited for about 3 weeks now. This is the most expensive vehicle I have owned. I'm a simpleton. Power windows and door locks are the only "luxuries" I have cared for. Of course the Limited has so many gadgets that the fuse box is easier to access than the battery:) That being said, I love the Pacifica. I love the comfortable, quiet, smooth ride. I love the moonroof. I love the 360 degree cameras. Of course there are a lot of things that I will probably never use (ex. heated steering wheel - I live in South Florida. Throw some AC in its place and that'd be a game changer.) But overall, I do not regret it. I did buy an extended warranty though as I'm not confident all of the gadgets will last and this gives me peace of mind. This van is a giant computer...and computers fail from time to time.

That's a good point re extended warranty. We leased ours and so long term reliability is not that big of a concern for us, but I can see how it would be for those buying their vehicles. I totally agree that there is an extraordinary amount of tech and digital stuff going on in this car, and many many potential failure points.

I will say this, I have had our Limited for 2+ weeks and all the chrome reflects off the side drivers side mirror. But the annoying thing is the metal trim on the steering wheel. It takes 3x as long to warm up (going thru a winter vortex here) and I wonder how hot it will be in the summer.

While everyone else is in a winter wonderland, it is 94% humidity and 90 degrees down here in Miami. Granted I did get my front windshield tinted with a Heat guard, but the steering wheel has been fine thus far. They should make AC for the steering wheel though :)

I got mine in July. I never noticed the metal ring being hot during our Houston summer but I absolutely agree it is too cold at first while the steering wheel heats up. The initial hot/cold contrast is somewhat uncomfortable.

I wish it had Android Auto, the fact that I just bought a car for 30k and it was not even an option sucks. But its not like any of the competition has it yet.

Otherwise its great so far. Only had it for a week, I have already used stow and go to take several trips to the dump.

Look on the bright side. A lot of people spent $50k on a Pacifica and they don't have Android Auto either! :)

Google did release an Android Auto app that mimics the same features as on the car's android auto. You can have it load on your phone automatically when bluetooth is connected on the car, or manually.

Not sure I understand what that does for you if you can't interact with it from the car's screen.

That is comforting to hear. I am truly concerned about this injuring my wife's hands.

I don't believe "injury" is a concern in any way. What we describe is just a sensory contradiction.

As the heating element within the steering wheel heats the majority of the material, it begins to feel warm and comfortable against your hands - BUT - there is a center "spline" between the two different leather colors. I presume this was a design choice to make it easier to wrap the wheel in two-toned leather by using a press-fit spline at the meeting point of the two different colors. It also looks nice as opposed to stitching where ONE of the leather colors would clash with the stitch color - and I bet it is less labor intensive to press-fit that spline in place.

The issue arises because the metal spline that is pressed into the center of the wheel (for good reason) is not directly connected to the heating element, so it takes MUCH LONGER for that thin metal ring to heat-up than the rest of the wheel. It just feels *odd* when you're gripping a warm, soft steering wheel and then feel the piercing COLD of that ring on such a small portion of your skin. It tricks the brain into initially thinking it's too-hot... or too-SOMETHING... once you tell your brain: "RELAX, it's just the coldness of the metal ring..." then it's not an issue and it's easy to avoid resting your palms on it as you drive.

There is *ZERO RISK OF INJURY* in what we're describing. It's just a feeling that messes with your head. No pain involved, no injury.

Exactly! And the sensory contradiction amplifies when you move your hands very slightly and the skin that was touching the colder ring moves to warmer area making it feel even warmer than it really is and vice versa.

I think on a smaller scale we are doing this "hot/cold is relative" experiment...
