Can i disconnect my phone without deleting the device ?

Is it possible to use my phone without using uconnect but without deleting the device? For example, in my old car I could just disconnect the Bluetooth connection then hand my phone to my kid in the back so he could watch a show. Now I can’t seem to find a way to disconnect it without deleting the device entirely. Any help?

Apple or Android?
The other option is disabling the bluetooth on the phone. That's typically what I do. I just disable bluetooth and then hand over the phone to who wants to use it. For me it's quicker then trying to navigate through the bluetooth area.

I did that. I shut the Bluetooth completely off and it didn’t disconnect. However this is hooked up it isn’t through Bluetooth.
In UConnect5 it's pretty easy, go to device manager and you should be able to see Phone, Audio and Carplay/Android Auto. Simply disconnect them there. You can also press the gear and select the default, which includes charging only in case you connect it to the front.
Thanks for bringing this up, Doug!
I have an Android, and once my van grabs it, it won't let it go. I can disconnect it in the Settings under Android Auto, but the next time I start the car, it grabs it again.
I tried to turn Bluetooth off, but that doesn't work when connected to the van!

To keep the van from connecting every time I start it, I've had to delete the device entirely.
I'd also love to hear if there's a way to connect/disconnect the phone when desired without having to turn off Bluetooth before starting the van.

Configure your Android to not auto start but let the vehicle decide. Then on your vehicle on device manager setup what you want. If either calls and/or media, or android auto or nothing. It will stop reconnecting.
